Can you negotiate??

Flowers was the one thing where negotiations were very successful. What I did was tell them what I wanted, and they would give me a quote. If it was what I wanted but the price was too high, I simply said, wow this looks great but my flower budget is only $X. And they said ok we can take out this one tiny thing, like ribbons on the centerpiece vases, and then give you the price you are asking.

So it worked out well since I didn't ask for ribbons on the vases in the first place, and they went down in price a lot.

I think the general rule is EVERYTHING is negotiable when it comes to weddings. I like the way Lori went about it, because it doesn't insult the vendor by implying that they are over-valued; it just states what you are able to spend. Most vendors, if they are good, will work with your budget.

I negotiated the price down for everything....flowers, cake, music, rentals, transportation etc.... the only thing that was non-negotiable was the photographer but Juan actually gave us an extra 30min because of the transportation time between the church and Dreams

I've already signed the contract at my resort and it said $1,000 for flowers, which only included brides's bouquet, groom's boutoninere, flowers for the arch and rose petals. Not even MOH or BM or a centerpiece. Then, they sent me pictures from 3 different florists and told me to choose what I wanted or send a picture of what I want. How do they know how much it's going to cost?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
