Awesome! Thanks ChristinaP.

I know it would make more sense to get them when you are down there, but my resort is far from PDC and I don't want to feel stressed like, I have to go to PDC to buy my wedding favours! I'd rather have everything organised before and take an extra suitcase down. Or in the case of Mishka designs... I belive they deliver directly to the resort. I am sure I won't be able to afford those...

OK, so not as bad as I expected...

Definitely cheaper to get them down there, but this also offers a little less stress, and the option to personalize. Here is the info I received from Mishka. Sorry if it is a little long, I am going to copy and paste the e-mail from her...

Maracas start at $4.50 usd each for a simple design, two-tone maraca. An example of that would be Lacy Romance or White Flowers in my blog. It's $5.00 (total order) for each additional color and $.25 per maraca for line of text (i.e. $.25 for date, $.25 for location, $.25 for names).

Fans start at $5.50 usd for a simple design, two-tone fan. The fan example we have on the internet is actually a $6.75 design.

You can either tell me what your theme is OR you can send me your invites, STDS, website, what have you and tell me a little bit about your decor and I can recommend a few ideas. We need at least two months to fulfill the order - we can do rush orders, although that, of course, costs extra.

Shipping to the Mayan Riviera for 20-30 maracas is around $40.00 usd. Shipping to Cabo is a little more expensive - for 20-30 maracas it's around $60 usd. We can ship to the States, but unfortunately it costs more to ship than it does to order the maracas and most of our clients aren't interested in paying so much postage. If you think you might still be interested, please let me know. We normally ship two weeks from the date of your wedding, in order to ensure it arrives on time BUT also so that the resort is looking for the shipment and that your wedding is current in their minds wink.gif.

We also do shake me tags (for the maracas), name tags, place cards, escort cards and menus :):).

I totally hear you! I am trying to be so cost effective...our resort is even further from Playa than yours!

Oh boy.... yeah, I can't afford the Mishka Designs... It would cost me over $200 just for favours... can't justify it although they are fantastic. I think I may order the cheap ones from a couple pages ago and get creative... I'd love to add our wedding date and names to them, but we'll see. I am not so crafty, although I really could be if I put my mind to it. I just don't have the patience.

I was just in Playa for our site visit and I found them for $1.00 for a pair on 5th avenue. Don't go into the "bigger" store on 5th we found that they don't care how many you are buying, they sell them for $1.00 each, the smaller places you can bargain with. So 80 maracas were $40.00

Hi Tanya,

Can you tell us which "smaller" stores you went to and where they are located in Playa del Carmen? Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
