Can you buy Marachas in Playa??

Recommended Posts

Thanks ladies for all of your replies. I figured you could find them in Mexico I just don't want to get there and be stressed about it. I did find a website its from Puerto Vallerta and they said they ship the maracas to the resort, I just have not looked into the costs yet. I am thinking I will probably order them a head of time so that I don't worry. I like the one site sent, but I would like to pick out the colors for the marachas and I am sure not crafty enough to make my own but that is such a great idea, maybe I can find a crafty friend. The website I found is mishkadesignspv.com, which I found on here awhile ago. I just love the look of the marachas on the reception tables and I also like the idea of shake for a kiss!!

We were in Playa del Carmen for 8 days back in December 2008. There were several souvenir shops along 5th Avenue that sells maracas in various colors (green/white/yellow/red/blue/orange/purple) and it was $1 a piece. The maracas also has "Playa del Carmen, Mexico" painted on them too. wink.gif

I am planning to pick up about 30 maracas after we check into the hotel in Playa del Carmen and put the tags/ribbons on. It should not take that long. smile72.gif

I think if you really wanted to, you could only provide one per guest, otherwise it would get a little more expense i guess....i was thinking about having them shake the maraca's to have the bride and groom kiss instead of using their silverware on their glasses.

That is such a fun idea!! I may have to consider that!

I have sent a request for pricing, time requirments, and shipping details to mishka designs in PV. They were so nice looking! (If I was at all crafty, I would do the "paint them myself project" but I know I would just get irritated!)

I will be sure to share whatever info. I get back from them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
