The Royal in Cancun 2010 Brides

Recommended Posts

I'm planning for a January 2011 wedding at the Royal. I've looked at a lot of other wedding packages at different resorts, and this one seems to be the most bang for your buck. Is anyone here further along with their wedding planning? I'm interested to know how you go about customizing your bouquets, linens etc..

I'm still in the process of talking with the WC via email on the sites. We MAY do the Gran Caribe because of the Chapel. We're catholic, but here's my question. Has anyone getting married in the Chapel had any problems getting a note from their priest/pastor at their local churchhuh.gif?? I was told in an email that the religious ceremony isn't valid in the US... and that most couples marry prior to their arranged date. I'll have to discuss more with the WC, but I'm not sure if I want to go through the whole process of pre-marital classes here. We might just do the gazebo. Seems like we'll have to do a site visit. So any troubles with your local church? What are u doing with your own church to snag that chapel location?

hey girls, getting married at the royal cancun june 19th 2010. Over the last few weeks ive been emailing Kimberly trying to finalize things and add some extras on, after not recieving any replies I decided to call the office in Michigan on Wed. I was told Kimberly was no longer working with the company, I asked when that happened and they said 2 weeks ago. Which is awesome seeing that no one bothered to get in contact with me. I was told I would have a new WC assigned to me by that night, thursday the latest. No one has contacted me. Ive been calling the office all day, the phone line is busy. Im pretty annoyed and aggravated I have all of my vendors looking for me to answer questions, that I can not answer until I hear from a WC. For the last 6 years, ive worked as a "right hand" to a wedding coodinator, I am so glad my company is proffessional.

On another note, Ive stayed at the royal twice prior, once in the swim upsuite, which is nice, but not private at all, your pool basically runs into your neighbors, I like my privacy, especially while on a romantic vacation.

We also stayed in the Royal Jr suite, which was wonderful, really the same as the junior suite, minus a few things, same square feet. When we go back in June for our wedding, we are staying in the Royal corner suite, I believe its a 100 sq feet bigger then the royal jr, but the room is kind of sectioned off, which i like because all the girls will be getting ready in my room. There is also the wrap around balcony which is basically why we picked the room, and there is a window by the jacuzzi really the only differences.

Im pretty much at my highest level of frustration with the WC's in Michigan, im considering backing out of the royal.

Hey everyone!!!

I just wanted to drop a quick message to you all. I came online to write a review on The Royal and your thread caught my attention.

I got married on November 6th, 2009. Just my luck, it ended up being the weekend that Hurricane Ida decided to drop us a visit. wink.gif

Anyway's, My wedding coordinator was Patty Hernandez. She was awesome! From the moment I met her she complete took all my nerves and doubts away. She had EVERYTHING under control. She had emails from over a yr prior when I had first began working with her. She was so well organized and kept saying "Don't you worry, it will be fine". Anyway's, we were originally supposed to get married in the gazebo and have a beach-side reception. Well, needless to say that did not happen. We ended up having our ceremony in a room beside the ballroom. They set up it so beautifully that I didn't even care that it was inside. It was just perfect.

Do I wish that I could've had beach-side wedding photos, yes. Was a wishing that I had brought a few extra things to decorate the reception room with, yes. I was banking on the beach and beautiful ocean being decoration enough. But honestly, The Royal truly made my wedding the most amazing experience of my life, and I wouldn't change a thing about that night.

If anyone has any questions please let me know. Your day will be perfect.

I'm going to try and write a review either tonight or tomorrow, so you can look for that. :)

Good luck brides!

Mandulhlea:

Thanks so much for sharing your experience on this thread. Congrats! I'm sorry that the hurricane came through on your wedding day, but it sounds like it was beautiful anyway! I don't have Patty, but right now it sounds like they're really swamped after losing someone (i think someone quit). But I hope other brides continue posting here!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
