Wow, i've been seeing alot of girls saying that the communication with the wedding coordinator has been horrible, which is truly hard for me to comprehend because we have had excellent communication! We're getting married at the Gran Caribe Real and staying at the Royal. My FI emails our WC every single day about 7-8 emails and she ALWAYS replies within a timely manner. I'm sorry you girls cancelled or wished to cancel your wedding there. I hope things get better for you all.

On the Kimberly note, she was our WC and she did up and quit randomly without us being notified after it was done, so our emails were going to LALA land. but it was quickly resolved with a phone call, which they were very apologetic and our situation was handled right away.

My wedding is set for july 14th at royal playa del carmen

I am havig awful time with w.c michiigan ofc.

I pu rchased the luxury wedding package and thought destination weddings were supposed to be laid back and easy. lol.

anyone have the pics and info on the cakes that come with this packagehuh.gif

if so, my email is [email protected] as I would love to check this out to choose one. I can't get a response from the w.c. sigh.

also I would like to book the dj that the hotel uses but directly through him to avoid the inflated cost. I've seen some brides mention doing this. anyone done this successfully and have any issues with the hotel trying to recoup a vendor fee?

last question, does anyone know of a florist to use in the area for wedding party flowers? is there a vendor fee for this too? I am having issues finding one when I try to google a florist company in mexico.

Thanks!!! :)

Hey Ladies! So i'm excited to say, my wedding is officially booked for Dec 2010! (i want to thank u ladies for your input in earlier discussions!) Although i will agree that communication with the WC is difficult and they are inconsistent with how quickly they reply, sometimes practically immediately and other times for days. What has really been an AMAZING help is my travel agent! besides emailing, she will stay on the phone line for upto 20 minutes waiting for Angie to talk with her directly. If it wasnt for her i think i probably would of backed out as well. ITs such a help and has really eased some of my nerves regarding getting questions answered. We're staying at the royal and getting married at the chapel next door. Were Going down for a site visit at the end of may, so if anyone has any questions they may want answered , or questions about the place before i go, i can try to answer them when i get back!

Does anyone know anything about the Photographers mentioned in the packages? or who they are? or have pictures posted from them? This is my next agenda, to decide if we are booking them or if i should look elsewhere...

We are getting married at The Royal Cancun (still haven't booked as we were debating between The Royal Cancun or The Royal PDC) in early October 2010.

We are basically eloping, so the only thing I really want are HIGH QUALITY photos and a nice little video.

So - I can't find any info or examples of the photography QUALITY and LOOK w/ the package.

May I ask who your photographer/videographer is? Did you go with outside vendor cuz the resort photographer isn't good enough?

thanks!

I thought that the photographer was ok, but the video wasn't that good. I went with Citlalli Rico from Claudia Rodriguez's team of photographers and Mike Cantarell from Cancun Wedding Video. The photo and video are a team. Sending you a pm now.

We stayed at The Royal Cancun the first week of November, 2007 and it was AMAZING!

I have been trying to contact The Royal, via thier wedding web site form, TWICE in over TWO WEEKS, with no response.

Then I also emailed the Michigan-based WC, with no response. And directly at the WeddingSales alias.

No word back at all sad.gif

Trying for an October 4th, beach-side wedding at The Royal Cancun, and staying there from October 1 - October 10.

I can't believe noone has contacted me back in over two weeks. I want to let folks know when the date is, but this is getting ridiculous.

I guess I'll try calling them?

When I first tried to contact them in January I'd filled out the information form on the real wedding website twice with no response in a week. After reading the trouble everyone here was having I decided to just call. I had emailed information from them that afternoon so I would highly recommend calling!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
