I was going to go the traditional route but I realized that it wasn't for me. So now we are looking to have our wedding at a Sandals resort. At first, we loved St. Lucia but after looking at some of the pics on this site from brides who got married in Ochos Rios I am leaning more towards that. We wanted to get married in June so that family and friends could attend but we just bought a house and I really don't want to wait any longer so now I am looking at having it in November. We are booking our wedding the first week of Oct so we have to decide something soon. I am sooooo glad I found this site and I am open to any advice and suggestions!

CONGRATULATIONS, and WELCOME TIFFANY!!!

You sound just like me! I wanted to get married at Sandals St. Lucian Grande, but then decided that Sandals Grande Ocho Rios was for me!! Too funny...and it turns out, that SGOR in Jamaica is actually less costly, so more guests are likely to be able to come! wink.gif

Anyway, I wanted to show you one of the pics from the Sandals site that sealed the deal for me as the place I wanted to get married: the photo below is a ceremony site called the Roman Gazebo on the Manor side of the resort. I've never seen anything like it, and since I don't want to get married on the sand, it was the perfect fit for us! Also, I think it's so beautiful on it's own, additional decorations aren't really necessary in my book, so it's even more of a win-win!

If you do decide to get married at SGOR, feel free to PM me and I'll do my best to answer any questions you might have!

Once again, CONGRATULATIONS and WELCOME TO BDW...it's a wedding-planning paradise!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
