TA Recommendation for Flights Only

Hi,

 

As someone whom has planned a group trip in the past with a TA, I have had a great experience with them and realize the value of using a TA. I now need a TA that will work with only arranging flights to the Bahamas for my guests whom will mostly travel from NYC.

 

I already contacted one TA from this site but she does not do air only groups. If anyone can give me a good recommendation, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

i don't think any TA's get paid by booking only airline - you are better off using an online site or calling the airlines and getting a group rate and then email the code out to your guests

Thank you...I see. Come to think of it, when I lasy used a TA for group travel, it was for hotel and air. I am thinking of having my wedding at the Atlantis and as such, they require that a certain number of rooms be booked with them. As part of their proposal, they gave me room rates at which they would hold rooms in blocks. It was my understanding that they require that the rooms be booked through them...maybe I assumed wrong? I will have to check. Thanks again.

booking air is one of the services that TA's provide for their guests when they also book land/cruise as TA's do not get paid a commission on air.

you may want to contact one of the TA's on here because usually resorts will honor the same rate/contract terms if booked through a TA....maybe try Maureen (above)

Well...I was wrong...I can use a TA to book the accomodations portion at the Atlantis!!! They said that they would honor the rate I have been given if I choose to use a TA. That would be great except the group rate for flights seem to be higher than if my guests were to book the air on their own.

 

On the other hand, my guests could probably do a payment plan with a TA...so confused!!

You don't have to do group air. Your ta can help your guests book their air.

Thank you for that...in that case...I can't really see a down side to using a TA.

we plan to get group rates for the resort and our guests can book with our TA. Since we won't do group rates for the flights they can work with our TA or use our discount code from American Airlines. It saves them 5% and guests can use it for a few days before & after your wedding and travel from anywhere on AA to and from your wedding.

I suggest having a TA because some guests will like the convenience. Mine got a great group rate for us and will include airport transfers. Not having to pay all $ at once is a major plus! They can use her to book all of their travel or just the resort.

sherre is correct....a TA that specializes in destination weddings will give you a few options so you can chose the best route for you and your guests.
