Boutique Hotels/Smaller Beach Resorts?

Recommended Posts

We were originally looking near Puerto Vallarta for 8.9.10, but it looks like most of August is rainy. I had found a few good options and now I am starting over looking in the Yucatan area. We were considering early June, but if the weather is nicer in Yucatan, we would like to keep our date.

I have heard Tulum and Akumal are nice. Please post any boutique hotels and smaller resorts near the beach. We are hoping to find a place on the beach where we can rent all/most of the rooms for around $100/room/nt.

We are also looking for a Catholic church. I remember seeing a picture of a palapa catholic church somewhere...

Thanks ladies! Any info is helpful!

Hi! We're getting married in Tulum in February and there are many hotels in the area that are in your price range. We chose hotels that are in the $150-$250 range, so I'm not sure I have what you're looking for.

We used Tulum Resorts as our travel agent and they are taking care of all of our guests' hotel bookings (Welcome to Tulum Resorts). Our travel agent's name is Laura and she has been extremely responsive and helpful.

She made a good point about the weather...do you guys know if the weather is any different between July and August? My orginal date was July 17th, but my guests can stay for less money at the end of August. Is there a big difference between the 2?

Azul Beach is very cute!! I can't remember the names of any resorts, but google "boutique hotels riviera maya mexico" and tons will pull up! They are so many really really cute designer hotels and boutique "bungalow-type" hotels. Good luck!

Contact Melisa. She knows Tulum!! It's amazing there and there are places for every budget. however PV and the Riviera Maya areas are so different! If you have your heart set on PV or surrounding areas you may want to change your date or go with it. Also, have you been to Sayulita outside of PV? Either way, you will have an amazing wedding!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
