Seating Arrangement

Recommended Posts

So we have 20 people coming, and we are trying to figure out seating arrangement. We were going to have 3 round tables that seat 6-8 people each. We figured since its a low number of people we wouldnt have to do seating arrangements.

Than when we looked at the guest list we realized people are probably going to sit in cliques. One table will be my FI dads family, the other table will be my FI mom family, and than the other table will be a mixture of my family and friends.

I really want everyone to interact so not sure if thats such a good idea. Than we thought were would we sit.....we didnt want to pick a table to sit at. Than thought we could get a separate table and have that in the middle of everyone.

Than we thought renting one long table might be an option....

What did you do?

We had 27 people including us. We had us, my mom and sister and Hubby's mom and her b/f at our head table/sweetheart's table. We had everyone else sit at 1 giant long table together. It worked out really well and since everyone got to get to know each other beforehand during the earlier part of the week. :-) Hope that helps!

We are inviting 60 guests, but only expect to have about 40 or so. We will have a head table, and round tables for everyone else. We are not having table arrangements, I just want everyone to choose where they get to sit so they feel comfortable and have a good time. I'm also counting on everyone getting to know each other during the week before the wedding down in Mexico!

We will have 30 ppl at our reception. We are planning to have a head table with bride/groom/bridesmaids/groomsmen (total of 6), a table with my and my FI's parents and our siblings and then the other 3 tables will mix up the rest of the guests. I am the same way-I want everyone to mingle so we are having assigned seating and I am putting people together who I think will really get along (for example, I think my uncle and ony of my FI's friends will get along great although they have never met so I am sitting them at a table together). Of course if something happens in the days leading up to the wedding I will switch the seating before the reception.

We are going to have about 20-25, our WC suggested we do assigned seating she said it just makes it easier. especially if you know you have family or friend that doesn't do well with moving around to see, you can place them in a comfortable spot so they can see whats happening. I also "god love my brother" I don't want him telling my FMIL a dirty joke or something... He has no social filter...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
