So I just checked and the band we think we're going to use is $4000/3 hours and then an additional 1500/hour. Does this sound absolutely outrageous or is that about what other people are being quoted for reggae bands (Female Lead Vocalist, Drummer "Lead Male Singer", Bassist, Keyboardist)

In the meantime, does anyone have other bands I should look into? I know the resort charges an extra $500 or so to bring in an outside vendor but it might be worth it.
I guess expensive is relative...If it is not to much for you, go for it!

I looked into a band and this is no where close to what I was quoted.

the one through the hotel was $500/600 an hour
$500-600 an hour is closer to what I was quoted.

Even though we can afford it, I don't want to pay too much if I don't have to. Do you know the names of the bands for $500/600? Has anyone used them and has feedback? We're looking for a reggae band that plays popular music - we want to make sure that everyone knows the songs and can dance. Our WC sent us a few cd's the other day but this is my fiance's job and he has yet to listen to them. They were all around a similar price range.

I booked the Chokey Taylor band. They have 8 band members and you can listen to some songs on itunes. They can play almost anything you want. Their manager is awesome. She replies to same day emails. I booked the live band for 3 hours and they have a DJ that will play for an hour afterwards. It costs $3200 for a total of 4 hours.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
