aww yay i heart this thread! SO apart from doing ALL the cooking every night J likes to surprise me with random stuff. A few weeks ago he surprised me and bought me the new Jennifer Wiener book, Best Friends Forever. He heard an interview on NPR with the author and thought Id like the book and just ordered it on Amazon for me without telling me :)

I just moved to Houston, and I am in the process of moving in to my new apartment. I don't have a vacuum cleaner, and the movers got the carpet pretty dirty. I spent the night with J last night, and this morning I asked him to put out the vacuum for me so I could take it to my place. When I got in the car to go to the gym, I saw that he put it in the car for me.

Just a little thing, but he takes such good care of me!

I have to admit that I am spoiled rotten. We both are...this thread reminds me of a conversation I had with my best friend a couple of weeks ago. It's what I was doing for him, but this thread reminded me of it so here goes)

I was talking to FRIEND on the phone while I was cooking dinner. (we talk like 5 times a day) I was done cooking dinner and I said FRIEND I gotta go...dinner is done and I am making Johns plate.

She started laughing and said "what Greg (her new FI) asks me to make his plate all the time and I always say NO!" He can make his own plate."

I explained to her that John didn't ask me to do it, I do it b/c I want to. I continued to explain that I don't ALWAYS do it sometimes he cooks dinner and he makes my plate. OFTEN. I told FRIEND that we take care of each other.

Sometimes I come home from work I'm so tired...he cooks, makes my plate, drink, cleans up the whole 9 yards and some nights I do it. Some nights I cook and say "dinners ready come make your plate" It really all depends

In my opinion you have to take care of each other and "baby" each other sometimes. He works really hard and he get's up at 4 am to go to work I really don't mind doing stuff like that....plus he's always really grateful b/c it's not something he expects. Anyway moral is.....take care of one another.

I recently turned the big 3-0, and the hubby went all out with sneaky surprises that I totally didn't expect. He booked British High tea at a local hotel with my girlfriends, and even attended himself; he put together a clever drinking game (because I never drink) that was designed to get me to let loose a bit without going overboard (had a blast); he designed a recipe scrapbook with recipes supplied by friends and family; but the best part was the cake that he made by himself:

As you can probably guess, I'm a huge Twilight fan, and Timm definitely puts up with a lot of craziness from me because of it. The fact that he went to so much trouble to put this together for me was the perfect touch.

My husband rules imo. Heheh. He makes me laugh so hard I almost pee my pants a bit every day.

He paid for my spa day this week (hr massage, hr facial and hr pedi). It was just a girls trip to Niagara Falls for the day and I had already planned ahead and saved up the money for it. (not a cheap day.. lol) But he surprised me the day before and said he was paying for it "because you deserve it and you're my wife".

Not only is my FI my heart and soul, and ultimate LAUGH BUDDY.....he also CLEANS MORE THAN ME!!

Often, I will come home, and not only are my clothes washed and dried, but they are laid out, almost pressed-looking, on our bed, for me to hang up as I choose. And our antiquated apartment doesn't have a dishwasher, but (since I cook the vast majority of our meals), John has already washed the dishes 99% of the time before I come home from work.

All I gotta say is...I love you Johnny Baby! wink.gif

So this isn't something he did, but something he said. We were at a wedding last weekend for a girl I work with. We were sitting at the table watching some people on the dance floor and he leaned over and said you know what sucks about being at this wedding? I was like oh no cause he's really shy and didn't really want to go, but went because I wanted to (and it was out of town). So I said no I don't, what? He said being here makes me want to marry you tomorrow. It was probably the sweetest thing he's ever said to me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
