I like glass cactus. It is really over priced though. The reason why we picked the place is because we have a friend that works at the gaylord. The hotel that is with the glass cactus. We are getting cheap rooms from her. We then do not have to worry about drinking and driving. They shuttle you to the club and back to the hotel.

hi Ladies! Im in a really good mood today! My mom and I are going to Key West for a planning trip and Im so excited. We leave Saturday :-) I have only 3 months to go and I still feel like there is a lot to do, but oddly enough I am not stressed about it. I know that in the end it will be great and I will be married to the man I love.

I also found out today that one of my friends at work went through my phone, got my FI number, called him to get my best friend's number and together they have been planning two bachelorette parties for me. I didn't even think I would get one and now I get 2! One will be here in Fort Worth for all my friends that aren't going to Key West and the second one will be in Key West with friends and family. Yea! It's a great day!

So I did my legal ceremony today... fun times! We had to bounce around from room to room in the courthouse to find a judge who would sign a waiver so we wouldn't have to wait 72 hrs because both of our families were down from Oklahoma. Long story short: we sat through a bond adjustment hearing for a chick that was on probation for MANUFACTURING METHAMPHETAMINE!! lol, it was like real life law and order!!

I'm down for a happy hour!!

And I'm also shower-less... my best friend here just got married in New York and now they're trying to have a baby so she can only offer to do something small. Another bf is in California, about to go on the KISS tour with her new husband for 2 weeks. My other best friend just had a baby so she's all about him right now....

Hope you all have a great and productive weekend!
Congratulations, sorry for delay... woot.gif

Great to hear that you are now getting 2 parties instead of none. smile159.gif
Sorry hadn't been on for a few days, I was a little busy... going on interviews and trying to find a job. AND... well I got it.

I still have lots to do... and better get going on the planning since I will now have less time to work on it, with the new job. =)

Hi ladies! I don't know how I missed this thread before. We got married on April 3rd at the Valentin Maya in Playa del Secreto, Mexico. We had such a wonderful time and it was absolutely beautiful.

I live on the south side of Fort Worth, and would love to help any other bride out there or meet up with my fellow bdw'ers! We actually have a friend that's having a dw in St. Lucia and I've been trying to help her out with some of her planning too.

My friends took me to the Glass Cactus for my bachelorette party, La Freak played and we had a lot of fun! Thankfully I didn't have to pay anything, but my sil told me that my bill alone was a over $400.00... opps...shots.gif

  • 1 month later...

Im starting to get stressed!! Through the whole planning process I was calm and relaxed. I had no worries, but now that it's only 4 weeks away, Im stressing out! I envisioned this perfect intimate beach wedding with a family dinner after. But now there are people coming that I have never met. My FI's cousins are coming who I have never met, his sister (black sheep of the family) and her 4 kids are coming but are using it as a vacation and "don't know that they will actually attend any of the wedding events". (are you kidding me??) Then, my FI's good friend who I can't stand (let's just say that d-bag doesn't do him justice) is bringing his crazy female friend just so he won't be the lonely single guy and will "have some wedding booty" as he puts it. Im trying to remind myself that it's not a big deal and in the end it will all be fine. I

Is anyone else having problems or stress issues?? Please share, it will make me feel better :-)

Just try to relax! It sounds like there's going to be a lot of excitement at your wedding (other than yours!). Maybe you can start passing the word that you want to be kept OUT of the drama loop, rather than IN it.

As for family you've never met... got to meet them eventually, right? At least this way you'll be too busy to actually sit and get to know them and you won't have to worry about possible awkwardness. :)

Just relax and have someone tell you about the craziness when you get back home!

I'm meeting my FI's aunt for the first time and from what my SIL says... she's kind of weird. LOL!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
