Question, is it just the two of you or a family affair?

We decided to invite everyone we would have invited if we were getting married at home knowing that everyone would not come. I figured that I would probably get about 20 people between immediate family and close friends, but actually ended up with 45! I am shocked, but couldn't be happier. All of my favorite people are going to be there and I am so excited that my friends and I get to have one last hoorah before a couple of them start trying to get pregnant. I am getting married at Dreams Cancun and the prices are very reasonable. Our ceremony will be at a gazebo by the ocean and then the reception will be right on the beach:) I can't wait. Good luck to all the brides trying to make the decision. Just keep in mind that it is your day and you should do whatever makes you happy.

Follow your heart.

I am toying with the exact topic right now and have decided that we will invite everyone we would have had it been a "normal" wedding at home; however, I would love to be able to put in some type of caveat that let's people know we would love for them to be part of our day, but completely understand if they can't make it. That way, it's their choice with no pressure.

I would imagine the people who come are going to be the people you would truly want there anyway.

Good luck!!!

You have to go with what your heart tells you. BUT... my new hubby and I just returned from getting married just the 2 of us and it was PERFECT! It was so beautiful and personal and I couldn't have asked for more. We were able to focus on each other and why we were there without having to worry about entertaining guests. We're going to have a small AHR in a few weeks for close friends and family. We have tons of photos to share and, while I know my family would have loved to have been there on our day, they absolutely supported our decision to go on our own when they understood we were trying to keep the focus on our committment to each other and not on everything else surrounding a wedding. So, for us it was the absolute perfect way to begin our marriage.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
