fyi, i tested it with my blue sand and im happy i did, i made a mess but im glad i now know what to do. its better to tape the opening panels u dont need with label paper. like a sticker because putting cardstock is too thick and wont let the slide on panel close. i had left over 8X11 labels so i just used a long strip of that and it worked, ill also take some to DR with me to close it once we put the sand in it. and when doign the sand ceremony you have to pour sand all the way to the top and then shake it a little to make sure its full so there no gap inside of no sand....hope this helps. btw my planning thread shows a pic of me making a mess with it and the sand in it....

yes when i tried it, i used only my blue sand and it came in that square pouch. it used up half the pouch. so i guess if youre using 2 colors then even half of half of each pouch lol i hope you get that lol

when you guys are ordering these frames online, like thru amazon, what is the name of the frame? Is it called a shadow box, or does is it actually called a sand ceremony frame? I want to do this sooooo bad but I am not creative enough or handy enough to pull it off! sad.gif

you can do it!!! its a frame made by Umbra i think its called Ether. its on amazon now. if you have it in front of you, it's a lot easier to glue the panels and such. amazon has it in stock for $24.50, get it now b/c Umbra has discontinued it!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
