La Amada Cancun Brides to Be??

Recommended Posts

Its been hell on wheels trying find a resort!! I've been trying to find a resort that 1st off, I'll be comfortable with but not break the bank since we're also bringing our two children. Secondly, Just in case other guest choose to book their room else where I didn't want them to have to pay for a pass to attend our wedding. Well..... I think I've found the location I want, but the WC takes almost a week to respond to simple emails & I just feel that if it's this way now, that there isn't much to look forward to throughout the process except headache & pure frustration. I'm just curious if anyone else is going through or has already went through the process of having a wedding La Amada. Please share if so. I haven't seen much about this resort in any posts on here so I'm crossing my fingers that just maybe I get lucky :0.

Thanks

Lesh,

That's a standard response time for a Mexico WC- they are bombarded with emails from potential brides and truly prioritize who they respond to first. Initially inquiries are far down the list with those whose wedding are within 60 days given top priority.

Take a peek around the forum and you'll find that is the most commom complaint from brides- but you'll also get a feel for how many DW or potential DW brides there are!

I am a bit upset because I was told over the phone by the WC at la amada that 3 adults could be in a room. Now, I'm told that only 2 adult are allowed. I haven't signed the contract yet because the travel agent is working out a room block, but I figured they could make 1 exception. I have 3 of my girlfriends who will only know each other at the wedding...I don't want to make 1 get a room by herself? Have you heard of anyone having more than 2 adults staying in a room at la amada yet. Also, we are expecting 100 people at the wedding! what gives?

Hey Caccy I'm getting married at Excellence Playa Mujeres which is in the same resort complex as La amada. I was checking out reviews of LA to hopefully offer it as an option for our guests. On trip advisor LA had great reviews and one posting I remember said there were four adults in a room....so unless they have drastically changed things i think they sould work it out for you.

The WC at La Amada is also taking care of Excellence PLaya Mujeres so ...a lot to do...and that is the reason it may take a bite long...but the property is absolutely great. Not sure the size of your party but you almost feel the hotel is just for your wedding...we did a great one in December and will publish pictures on our website because they were fantastic!

Did you all do a wedding at excellence or la amada? I am getting married at excellence in May...excited to see any pics you may have. I am looking for something a little more than the standard linens chairs etc...

Hi there, I got married at La Amada on April 17th, 2010 and it was the most amazing experience ever. Ileana Romero is quite possibly the best event coordinator I have ever dealt with. Ileana’s personality, attention to detail, and follow through are impeccable. She exceeded our expectations, time and time again. Mexico does have a time delay, but do not fret, b/c her attention to detail NOTHING goes wrong!! I wish I could go to another wedding there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
