Has anyone done a candy bar for favors?

Recommended Posts

have any of you done a candy bar for favors? I'm moving this summer, and I am planning a big launch party. I would like to have a candy bar for favors. I thought I would look for some fun glass containers or candy jars and use candy that is white, blue, and brown.

I'm having trouble finding candy and knowing how much I need. If anyone has done this before and has any information - I would reallly appreciate it!

id did one last year for my bf's wedding... its super easy... start looking for large and i mean large vases on sale racks like at marshalls, home goods or tg max (around $10.00 each) you may even get lucky and find some cheap ones at Michaels or Walmart. We went to a large candy surplus wholesale place where they sold the candy by the pound and had tons left over for 200 guests i think we spent about $350.00 on everything the candle and about 15 vases. we used only the colors of the wedding which was red so we used only red candy... My other friend also did this but saved all of the reciepts and price stickers for the vases and washed them in the dishwasher and returned them back to the stores and saved alot of money... just an idea... not sure if i could do that!

We are doing this for our wedding. I got some of the candy from Costco and the rest I ordered online. We are using all red and blue candy.

After reading different articles, the best tip I got was to not go by the 1 lb per person rule, but to get the right quantity so that it looks good. They suggests 10 - 15 lbs of each type of candy to make it look good. You can go from there and pick the number of types based on number of people. Does that make sense?

Hi Jill!
Not sure if you're looking for a "sweets table" or for individual candy bars but here's what I did for a friend's wedding shower...

This is such a fun idea!

Just FYI when we do candy bar breaks for events, there are LOTS of people that take more than you'd expect. Not to say your guests would! But some people will take a few "for the kids" "for the road" etc so they can go faster than you'd think.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
