My fiance and I are teachers so my first priority was doing a wedding over spring break. We also wanted a cheap, short cruise so we could have a lot of friends and family attend - and it seemed to work because we already have about 40 guests booked! So we found a three-day cruise out of Port Canaveral to the Bahamas on the Carnival Sensation and one of the Royal Carribean Majesty of the Seas. Ultimately, price and the sailing dates were the deciding factor between the two. Then I got in touch with wedding coordinators in Nassau and found a location on the beach! Good luck with your decision - keep us posted!

Personally, our decision was based on timing as well, knew it had to be during spring break-up as the FI works for the Oil & Gas industry. Second thing was the itinerary and then availability for the wedding and times that I wanted.

Since sailing with Princess and wanting to be married "At Sea".... also being quite picky, had to be the last wedding of the day and the first day at sea. After picking which itinerary and then which ship came down from 2 Itineraries, 2 Ships, 8 Sailing Dates and found the one that worked best for us and that was the final decision of booking our room and then the package.

Enjoy picking out your date and itinerary, I had lots of fun picking out ours!

Our driving force was price. We live in South Florida, so we have many options between the cruise lines. I know I wanted a fall wedding and also the sailing prices are cheaper during the fall. We got a great rate with NCL which included all outside cabins. We currently have 50 guests sailing with us on our weekend cruise to the Bahamas. I also found a WC in the island, which offered us a better wedding package than the cruise lines.

awesome!!! i think that mine is going to come down to the church availability. i actually just secured my priest for the weekend of february 13th - which is president's day weekend. i met with him yesterday and just pulled that date out of a hat and he is free!!!!

now i just have to figure out a church that is free and will let us have the ceremony.

there are so many choices, but isn't is awesome how things finally have a way of falling into place?

We really wanted a beach wedding but my FI doesn't fly, so we decided to cruise. We narrowed down the islands that had no wait time for on island weddings and researched the island and tendering. Then we tried to find the cheaper cruise with the best itinerary so that it would be easier for our guests to afford it. And we actually took into consideration a few other friends weddings and vacation times. At the end of the day none of that mattered because only 2 are booking...but we're soooo excited!

Congrats on picking your date!

And yes...the rest will all fall into place!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
