I have been getting some help from the wedding coordinator but more from my travel agent! I have not found anyone else who has been married there before so I know how you feel!
OMG-I cant believe I have finally found someone else getting married there-thats such a relief, would love to communicate more with you about your experience. How are you finding Katty? I had gone with the decameron becuase Vivianna-the previous wedding planner received amazing reviews.
There is so much we are trying to arrange and its the little things they dont offer right off the back that bug me...ie-those ugly white plastic lawn chairs they are trying to get my guests to sit on! uhhh-dont get me wrong Im not being a bridzilla over this but the other Decamerons have cover wooden chairs on the beach and it looks much more elegant versus cheezy and cheap-they are still working on this for me, I am going to have to have some shipped in from Panama city apparently.

tell me more about your experience

Congratulations Bren!

FI and I vacationed at the Royal Decameron/Panama in 07 - it was amazing. Totally spoiled me for any other all inclusive.

My real estate agent's daughter got married there a couple of years ago, and she said it was the best wedding she had ever been to.

Can't wait to see pictures :)

I am with you all - getting Married there April 16th, 2010 - with little information to go on, other than all the raving reviews I have heard of the resort itself. I have found Katty to be good, quick with her responses etc.

I completely agree with you regarding the chairs. I was at a Riu wedding in DR a few months ago, and the guests stood - I think I would prefer that than those cheapy plastic chairs.

Any extra information anyone has would be fabulous!

Thanks and good luck Ladies!!

Hi all!

I'm thinking of doing something slightly smaller than a wedding for my 10-year wedding anniversary in May. Something like a renewal of vows...And, was considering the Royal Decameron. We probably wouldn't plan it as 'full out' as a wedding (i.e. not getting room blocks - our friends would just book themselves).

There's not a lot of info. on the Decameron website, does anyone have links to information or advice on a contact?

Thanks!

Hi everyone, I wish I had more information to add on here but unfortunately I don't. Its appears to very hard to find others who have had a wedding here. I have stayed at the Decameron before but, never witnessed a wedding taking place. I would like to consider having my own wedding there but like some else said on here, I can't get pasted those horrible lawn chairs. I keep sending e-mails asking if they have changed them yet but no luck. I am even beginning to ask around if there is a chair renting service because they are so terrible.

I'm getting married in Panama in March 2010 in a town called Portobello on the Atlantic coast. My FI mother knows a family who owns property right on the water so we're pretty much setting up everything ourselves. No wedding planner. I just went down in Dec. to meet with the caterer and we booked a photographer. We're also going through a tour agency who is setting up transportation, tour options for guests, and hotel booking options for guests. I'll arrive a week before the wedding to get everything else in order. We already got married here in the US so we dont have to deal with the crazy tests and paperwork down there.

I am so excited to have found this forum because I am also considering Royal Decameron in Panama for my June 2011 wedding (it's between that and Breezes Panama)!  Can anyone offer any tips on the best way to get wedding pacakge info for Royal Decameron? They don't seem to have a direct website.

Thanks so much!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
