Hi! Our wedding is 4/17/10 at the Royal PDC. Ceremony and cocktails in the gazebo, party on the beach. We used Busy Bee Press for STD postcards and were really happy with them.

We're looking at photographers - does anyone have opinions on Playaweddings.com? Del Sol looks great but a bit expensive and Elizabeth Medina is booked already.

Hi Ladies,

Check out Samuel Luna for photography Flash Portfolio | Top Mexico Photographers | Mexico Destination Wedding Photographer Samuel Luna

We are using him and found his rates were great however we booked when he was running a promotion. The least expensive photographers that I found were Lincoln and Lori from moments that matter photography MEXICO Destination Wedding Photography, Wedding Photojournalism throughout the Mayan Riviera

Thanks,

Hi Louise congrats!

The taking of the pictures really depends on a lot of factors. We are doing ours before for a few different reasons. First we are getting married at 4pm. In order to have light and sun we wanted to get the pictures before hand. We are getting married in November where it gets dark by 5pm.Two we don't want to miss the cocktail hour lol. It is a great time to mingle and relax before having dinner. And finally we love the idea of the first look. This is a private moment that the photographer sets up for you and your groom. I think for us we felt it would really help with nerves lol and it would capture a moment when it is just us alone. Again this really varies from every person on how they would like to do it.

So today I finally get a response from the WP at RPC to discover that I need to pay $400 to rent the site as I will be having an "a la carte" wedding. I would really have appreciated if they told me this the first time I mentioned "a la carte" to them. Then i email them with questions and no reply! Im sooo frustrated i have so many questions and nobody to answer them! Sorry ladies just had to vent!

We have been having major problems getting a response on emails as well. After multiple attempts I finally spoke with someone and booked for June 25th, 2010. The ironic part of the story is that after I told the girl how many emails I had sent her (none of which she had responded too) she told me that she sits in front of the computer all day. She mentioned that she would respond promptly to the deposit info I was sending as we spoke. Funny stuff.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
