Need advice for Turks and Caicos alternatives!

Hey ladies

My fiance and I want an all inclusive resort for our wedding. At first we wanted Turks and Caicos but we are not sure about the only 2 AIs there - Beaches and Club Med.

My question is - Are there other islands or locations that are similar to the beaches/snorkelling in T&C? but have more options for all inclusives?

any advice would be appreciated!

thanks

kena

We were hoping for an adult AI resort - everything else about the resort seems to be great though! T&C is a destination that I have always wanted to go to. St Lucia is also an option but the beaches are quite a bit different and we really want to do some great snorkelling.

hmmm yay I thought about that. But we have a ton of kids in our lives.. family and friends and I want them to be part of our day. That is a reason I chose Beaches. But I was told end of January there are not many children at all and that there are ways to be away from them. adult only areas etc!

Good point! I guess I am still in the early stages for deciding, my fiance likes the look of Mexico too - so I have been investigating the Yucatan - El dorado and Excellence also Tulum.

This may be a little off topic, but please consider your airfare....

We have travelers from all over the US and Canada, and the airfare is outrageous to travel from the west coast to the turks. This was one thing I never considered when looking into which destination we wanted our ceremony. Because at first, it was just supposed to be, just us and our immediate family.

Just something to think about....

This was unfortunately one of the deciding factors on why we didn't choose T&C sad.gif The airfare was much more expensive than any other destination we were considering (even tho T&C was my favorite pick) and this may have changed since then but when I was researching resorts I was unable to find any non-stop flights to T&C. Flights with layovers worry me as it's just one more chance for luggage to get lost and for my DW that's the last thing I need. But the island looks gorgeous and we are definitely planning a trip there later on - maybe 1 year anniversary :)

But if you do decide to stay with T&C, I would still consider Beaches - my son is going to our our Beaches wedding in Jamaica and he'll be 13 at the time so he is WAY past Sesame Street age, lo - so I wasn't specifically looking for a kid friendly resort, but I did want somewhere that had a variety of activities that could cater to us, as well as all of our guests, and I really think Beaches does that. And like others have mentioned, there are ways to have adult time and not be constantly surrounded by kids. Whatever destination/resort you choose, good luck with your planning!

I just returned from St. Lucia ! I was at Sandals Grande St. Lucian(adult only AI) and the resort was great and sat on a beautiful stretch of beach . The snorkeling was pretty good and only a few minutes away - your in a cove so the water was very calm and crystal clear with lots of life , schools of fish, you may see a turtle, some arrow crabs and some really large coral! It was some of the best snorkeling I did- besides in maui but in Maui it was far rougher with the waves so I enjoyed this much more!

I got married in St. Lucia and LOVED it! In addition to Sandals, there is another adult-only AI resort called Rendezvous. You are correct that the beaches are different though. You will not get the snow white sand with aqua water. The cobalt blue water was gorgeous in my pics though! Check out my slideshows in my siggy. Also, here are some snorkeling pics taken on our catamaran ride by Paul Bennett of ELU Photography and Kristi Klemens of KLK Photography.

  • 4 weeks later...

Does anyone have any good band/dj suggestions.

I've heard horror stories from several turks turks brides about djs not playing any of their requested songs but only playing rihanna (i personally really like rihanna, but wouldn't want my wedding dance music to be limited to it).

I've also heard bands doing the same things...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
