Is it common to give a gift or pay the "free" wedding co-ordinator?

a lot of ppl still give a tip anywhere from $100 to $500.

We're having the free wedding package but we're giving our coordinator about $150 for all her work

This is a very good subject. I would have never thought about it. At an all inclusive resort, gratuity is suppose to be included. Is it standard to still tip? Is the amount the same?

I am bring a Thank-you package for my WC. Included in it will be for things for her, her husband, and her daughter. I asked about her family and wanted to bring something to thank her for all the work and help she will be. I will give her this when I arrive. If I am really impressed with the service there after I will also give her a cash tip.

I loved my wedding coordinator. I purchased a package for my wedding that included her services. I tipped her in cash and gave her a gift bag. The bag included a Bath & Body works set, a necklace similiar to one that I wore that she admired, (I was going to give the necklace to one of my guests that had carted an entire suitcase to Jamaica for us, but since our coordinator admired the one that I wore, I gave her that one and am taking my guest to the spa for a massage. I'm going too, so its kinda a selfish gift!)some allergy meds that are hard to get in Jamaica that we had discussed, and some perfume.

I think it should be left up to the individual. My coordinator went out of her way for me and I really appreciated it. She came in on her day off to help me with some of my planning once I was on site. IMHO I don't think there are any set rules, your tip should be based on your experience.

Thanks for all of your comments. I think a cash tip might work best since the luggage restrictions are so strict and we are staying for 2 weeks.

We gave a cash tip. Wait until after the wedding to make sure you want to give the full amount (just in case things get messed up). We had a few mishaps but they really weren't her fault so we gave her $100. I figured- how do you know what kind of gift someone would actually like since we had never met her before? We never saw her after the wedding so we dropped it off at her office the next day.

I'm planning to bring a small personal gift for her time helping me plan and then cash tip after the wedding.
