Hey girls, just wanted to know where everyone is getting married (place and resort) and why you chose your location..

I'll start...

I got married in cabo...we knew we wanted a wedding on/near the beach...since we are in cali we wanted flights to be less than 5 hours. we were debating between cabo and hawaii.

we wanted it to be in a surf area because hubby and his friends surf.

Cabo was alot less expensive and the flight was under 3.5 hours so that was how we decided! hubby and i are super practical people. we also love to travel so even though this was a destination wedding, we wanted to pick a destination that would be easier for our guests.

we had a great wedding...it went flawlessly!

We choose Cabo because we wanted a place with a beautiful back drop, and knew we wanted to get married on the beach. I actually wanted Hawaii as well, but since I was married b-4 and we went their for our honeymoon we wanted something fresh for US. A place that neither of us has been to.

We choose Cabo because we wanted to get married at the beach. We wanted a "different" kind of wedding, something that would be unique and memorable. We've both never been to Cabo, so we're thinking of it as an adventure.

When we were choosing a location, hurricane's in Cancun and such stuck out in our minds as well which is why we avoided that side of Mexico.

Our family is spread out all over the US, so we figured if everyone had to fly anyway we might as well go to the beach. Go CABO!

We chose Cabo because we wanted somewhere where people from the east and west coasts could meet, and we didn't want to worry about hurricanes! I have to admit when I picked Mexico I was thinking things would be more affordable than in the US -- but I was definitely wrong about that. Cabo is many things, but it is not cheap!

We chose San Jose Del Cabo because I really wanted to get married on the beach & I love Cabo! My FI has never been, so he is super excited to spend our wedding there.

A destination wedding is right for us for a few reasons:

1. it's non-traditional & we are SO non-traditional in nature!

2. This is his 2nd marriage, so something different is good.

3. We wanted to limit our guest list to close friends & important family...hopefully it works!

4. Our families are mostly in CA & AZ, so it's a nice geographical center point.

We choose to have a DW because all the weddings we've attended recently end to fast! We want to enjoy our wedding and make the party last for days! (not to mention we wanted a way to cut the guestlist!)

We choose Vallarta because my parents family is from the same state and I have family who live about 4 hours away who can help with the little details if need. (ie, I may get my centerpeices made in Mexico!)

I chose Jamaica after realizing that a wedding in Maui consisted of possibly too many people since my entire family is in California and Nevada and because it was too expensive. A friend told us about an all inclusive wedding she went to and I thought that sounded great...Sandals just came to mind and I saw they had free weddings if you stayed their for your honeymoon. I was hooked. I liked the beaches part of sandals because I have family and friends who are single or who have kids and I didn't want to exclude them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
