I agree, you look gorgeous either way but in looking at your pics I leaned more towards the brunette look because you just look so classically beautiful! I was debating whether to keep my very blond locks for my wedding day or start going darker so I would have a brunette shade for my big day. I have decided to stay lighter, though, since my hair is naturally blond & I figured going darker would be a waste of money spending over a week in Jamaica under the hot, hot sun...I'd be fading my color terribly! After my wedding, I really do want to try going towards a brunette color. I think dark hair is gorgeous & I am so jealous of all the dark-haired beauties out there! wink.gif Good luck deciding!

Personally I think you look gorgeous as a brunette. Maybe I'm biased being a brunette myself, but I think it really makes your eyes pop.

I just went back to a darker color than my natural and am going to keep it that way for the wedding. The lighter brown I had washed me out.

I do know what you mean about highlights! Even having my hair professional dyed, it is still a fraction of the cost for an all over color compared to when I used to have highlights.

Good luck with your decision! Either way you're going to look beautiful.

I am trying to decide if I should keep my highlighted hair for my wedding in May or go back to brunette. Everyone says "you look good either way" when I ask them for their opinion! I also am trying to figure out the costs...my FI is unemployed right now and I can't bear the thought of throwing out $$$ if I change my hair back to brunette. The highlights are not cheap! lol but then I would save money if i go back to brunette. AH HELP!

It is due for me to update my highlights. My roots are showing already!

Can you help since you're all ladies and good at giving advice??

Me with my current color...

Do let me know what color will your hair be for your wedding too!
Remember, the sun will make your hair color fade so your highlights will pop back out unless you wear a hat on the beach!

Very quickly here is my hair story... I am 40ish and going grey fast.. roots roots roots... every 4 weeks I was spending about $100 on filling in the roots and topping up the low lites and highlites. I pulled into the parking lot of the hairdressers about three months ago and looked int the rearview mirror at myself.... I didn't like the hair it looked over processed and dead. I have been doing this process above for oh about 8 years. I was very blonde with the hightlites. I went into the salon and told my hairdresser... Make chestnut brown again.... Stunned but very excited she did and I walked away paying $55.00, I touch up the roots every month with of the counter colour and i haven't been back to see her since... I will be going closer to my birthday in october to have a cut.
My hair is shining and healthy, OH FUNNY my FI had never seen me with dark hair.... you had to see his face.... He loved it.. shocked to hell when came home and there was a dark haired lady in the kitchen making dinner. But loved it and I get so many compliments from people how they love the dark hair. I am so happy I went back to darker hair just easier and less $$$$$$$$$$$$$ right now.... I looked at your pictures and the dark hair is very sexy.... My 2cents... take care

Here is another reason why I think you should go dark again. Think about 40 years from now, the "highlighted" look may be totally out and it may date your wedding photos. The Auburn color is classic and less trendy and I think you will be glad you have a solid, rich, beautiful color down the road.

edit: Let me mention that I've been a hairstylist/colorist for 13 yrs now, so I've heard every desire and regret of every bride I've ever dealt with! If you do make a change do it well in advance of the wedding so you can change it back in time for the wedding without damaging your hair!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
