What color will your hair be for your wedding? Advice needed

I wasn't sure where to put this but I figure i'd put this in beauty section.

I am trying to decide if I should keep my highlighted hair for my wedding in May or go back to brunette. Everyone says "you look good either way" when I ask them for their opinion! I also am trying to figure out the costs...my FI is unemployed right now and I can't bear the thought of throwing out $$$ if I change my hair back to brunette. The highlights are not cheap! lol but then I would save money if i go back to brunette. AH HELP!

It is due for me to update my highlights. My roots are showing already!

Can you help since you're all ladies and good at giving advice??

Me with my current color...

Personally I love you as a brunette (but you do look great both ways)! I asked the same question in the wedding attire section a while ago and people told me to go darker (I'm naturally a dark brunette, right now I'm blonde) but to keep a couple of highlights so I've started lowlighting my hair. I am starting to think that closer to natural is better.

The highlights feels more beachy and summery to me...so that would be my choice! You're friends are right though, you look great with both.

My hair is naturally a dark blonde...and I've always always always highlighted it with blonde streaks...so I will def stay blonde for my wedding... but i am considering making it more blonde and bright than my usual for the big day!

Tough one. You look great both ways, but I like the dark. It makes you look more exotic! I have very dark hair, and used to highlight it. I made the choice (for $$ reasons) a couple of years back to go back natural, and I love it! Not to mention the fact that I'm not in the salon every couple of months. I have toyed with the idea of doing something different for the wedding, but I think if I go that route, I will keep my color dark, and do some extensions.

this IS a tough one.. let me just say you really do look beautiful either way. but if i could choose for you i think i'd go with the brunette. It does make you look more exotic and it gives you a more romantic, classic look.. and i think it brings out the color of your eyes too.

years from now if you go back to your natural color and look back at your wedding photos, would it bother you if your hair was highlighted?

hmm.. honestly you cant go wrong either way. good luck with your decision :)

I agree....you look great both ways! At least you have the option of doing either. I do think the dark looks exotic and is very flattering on you. I wish I could go dark like that, but I'm so pale I'd look like a ghost! Anyway, I would just go with what you think is best...but you definitely can't go wrong either way. :)

I think you look fabulous both ways, however your natural colour gives you an exotic look. Does your hair lighten in the sun? Will you be there long enough for the sun to affect your colour? These things need to be considered as well. Does salt water have an effect on colored hair? I honestly don't know because I have never died my hair.

As someone who has flipped from brunette to blonde highlights over and over, and is also out of work and trying to save cash, I totally understand. I remember Mel's thread on this too.

How do you feel the most beautiful, and how does FI like it best?

I always think I like myself both ways, but I know I look better with the blonde and can't imagine getting married without my highlights.

If you can stretch it out between getting them - they say 6 -8 weeks, I just went 9 weeks....do what you can.

thanks so much ladies for your opinion!

it is a tough one for me because i've been blonde more often than brunette (except growing up, of course).

those are good questions that i need to keep in mind...i like myself with both colors but just CAN'T decide if i should stick with my current color or return to my natural color but with some red tint.

i also posted this on my fb to see what other people that i don't see often would say...the consensus seems to be brunette. my FI prefers me as a brunette and he said he wanted me to grow my hair out. I just have thin hair and would not look good if i let it grow out! i do like the idea of having extensions for my wedding! it would be easier if i had one color instead of multi-colors. i just can't stomach the idea that i would throw out $$$ if i dye my hair to brunette and it's so pretty right now. however, if that helps me to save money then i think i should go back to my roots! i haven't been a brunette almost two years. maybe it's time for a change! :)

thank you all! you all will look beautiful on your wedding day, regardless!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
