Hello there..

Welcome! I was married in Puerto Vallarta a couple weeks ago. But then my hubby and I snuck off for our honeymoon to Oahu and Maui - and we actually had our legal ceremony in Maui. Our legal ceremony wasn't much of anything - just the 2 of us, but we did use a company to help us plan. I can try to help if you have any questions - just let me know!

You are right.. Vancouver is very pretty and I love living here :) But for a beachy wedding, the weather here is far too unpredictable even in summer. Sigh!

I've been told renting condos is the way to go in Maui, so if two couples shared accomodations it might not be too bad! Ah well, we'll see how it goes..

Thanks everyone for your comments!

Anyway, have you looked into Mexico? There are a lot of cabo/rm/pv girls on here. Or maybe Costa Rica?

Congratulations on the engagement and welcome to the Forum!welcome3.gif

Before deciding on Cabo for our DW, we were considering Maui and Oahu. I'd be more than happy to forward all the info I have (ie., venue info, wedding planner info, etc). You may want to estimate the difference in costs between Maui and Oahu. I found that almost every service was more expensive in Maui, however, the backdrop in Maui is awesome. Also know that Maui is way more laidback than Oahu so depends on what you and your guests are looking for out of a vacation. I couldn't decide between the two--beautiful backdrop in Maui or more lively atmosphere in Oahu. You can't go wrong either way. Feel free to send me a PM if you would like additional info.

Good luck!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
