Random 5 things

That is totally weird! My FI has a similar story...his older sister (who was 19) and his mom (who was 44) gave birth to girls on the same day...9/9/93...which would make it my FI's little sister and niece. They just celebrated their 16th birthdays and had a huge soiree! They're juniors in high school and they have a aunt/niece relationship. Like sisters, who live in separate houses, haha. I love weird stuff like that!

I agree -- this is harder than I thought it would be!

Here's my 5 most random things:

1) My older sister was born exactly 2 weeks before her due date on my Grandfather's 50th Birthday; I was born 2 years later, exactly 2 weeks after my due date on my Granmother's 50th Birthday. (Without induced labor or "trying" it, my Mom had given BOTH of her parents a grandchild on their respective 50th BIRTHDAYS! Weird, right?

2) I am the only left-handed person in my family.

3) I met washed-up One-Hit wonder Vanilla Ice at a local bar here at home on my 25th birthday, and he bought me a drink.

4) I was jazz-dance competition champion in the state in 1995.

5) Even though I have a degree in Journalism from Penn State University, my ultimate dream is to open a gourmet soup cafe someday (called SouperStar Cafe) and I want to name all of the menu items after my favorite celebrities (and a few family members, just for fun!)[/quote

ooo this is really cool - so loved reading all of yours. I never knew other people don't dream in colour!! That would be so weird! I dream in colour, and remember all of the details - so vividly that I will sometimes get into arguements with FI about stuff in my dreams :)

so, my list:

1. I grew up as a Catholic - I was even an alter server in the local church - but now im not sure what I believe.

2. I am in love with my house - Fi and I bought right on the waterfront, but soon after we start a family, we will outgrow it - and I just know I will be devestated!

3. I used to be a big reader - and loved it, now I watch TV - which makes me sad to think about it, but I dont think I could give up my TV shows!

4. I studied Psychology for four years and just before I was due to graduate, one of my best friends killed himself. They passed me for my final exams out of pity (and guilt i guess - he studied psych with me), but from that day on, I knew i could never be a psychologist. I have never told my parents, but i guess they know since my break from post grad studies has now been 6 years.

5. and a sappy one for last - I never believed in fate until I met FI. We met on the other side of the world (France) in a beginners snowboarding class, then again in a pub in London a month later, then again a week later in another pub - then we finally clicked and exchanged numbers :)

2. At different times in my life, I have wanted to be (and thought I really would become) a lawyer, a dentist, a stay-at-home-mom, a designer, a musical theatre actor and an entrepreneur.

3. At one point, I actually was one of the things listed in #2!

4. I really wish my parents had stayed married, but at the same time I would be horrified if they got back together

5. I can't go a day in my life without drinking coke zero!

Lara, I too could NOT go a day without coke zero!  Some people drink coffee or tea, but I drink Coke Zero

ooo this is fun and I love how its almost become a sort of "confessional"!

Hmmm...

1. I am obsessed with the books and HBO series True Blood.  I have purchased all of the books, all of the DVDs, bottles of True Blood...you name it.  Plus, I even downloaded a bunch of music that yummy Alexander Skarsgard likes (he plays Eric Northman on the show).  I've joined every fan page and newsletter about the show, and have pictures on my desktop.

2. I would live off of potato chips and Coke Zero if I could.  I've been trying to give up the chips to lose some weight before the wedding, but it is a constant battle.  As for the Coke Zero, I won't event try to give that up. :)

3.  Secretly I would trade in my friends for new ones if I could.  Planning our DW has really brought out the "true colours" in some people that we thought were our nearest and dearest friends.

4. I am obsessed with Reality tv. I too hope that this genre never goes away.  It doesn't matter the show, I can probably get into it.  Survivor, Big Brother, America's Next Top Model, etc....I still love and watch them all.

5. I am overly sensitive.  My feelings are hurt way too easily and by being overly sensitive to things I also end up being overly jealous at times.  Not a good thing, but hey that's me.  At least I am open with my feelings.

I love this!  Let's keep this bumped up - it's fun learning about everyone.

1. I love anything that has to do with powerpoint.  My dream job would be graphic design or website design but I wouldn't even know where to start to make it a reality.

2. I have a bad tendancy to overreact about dumb, insignificant things that aren't really worth arguing about and it usually ends up getting me in trouble.

3. I love tv but I'm not a big movie person.

4. I can't make a decision to save my life.

5. I am very proud that at age 29, I have no debt - no car payments, credit cards, student loans, or mortgage.  I would be ok with the mortgage debt one day (hopefully soon!)

1. Many times I have thought about leaving my job with the government to become a sports journalist.  The pay cut would be huge, but it would truly make me whole I think...  I'm kind of afraid to do it though because I can see all of my other dreams coming true right where I sit in life right now.  The other scary thing is that I have gotten where I am without any education after HS, and if I was to pursue my dream job, I'd rack up some major debt in loans.

2. 2007 was the biggest whirlwind for my life...  In May my grandmother (who was like a 2nd mother to me) passed away, in the beginning of July I met my FI, at the end of July I went to Alabama to see a good friend, who happens to be an ex's mother, and came home with e coli, and while I was in Alabama, I found out my mother had been diagnosed with breast cancer.  I have always said that I wanted my grandmother to meet the man I married before she passed away, however now I think she sent him to me so he would be there through all of the heart ache.

3. I was born one day shy of a month AFTER my due date.

4. I have seem to become more knowledgeable in most sports than FI is...it's kind of scary to me!

5. I am too sarcastic and can't seem to change it to save my life.

OMG this is totally me too.  Good thing I work in a casual environment where most people get my sense of humor!

Where in VT are you from?  I'm in NY, just a ferry ride across the lake from Burlington.

1. I am obsessed with TV shows, you name it I probably watch it! I turn down offers to hang out with friends because of my tv schedule, i cannot wait for fall TV shows to start!

2. I dont go anywhere without my iphone, not even to the bathroom. I am constantly checking either my email, facebook, the weather or BDW!

3.  I believe 100% in opposites attract, my FI and I have very little in common but are so crazy in love and are celebrating our 6 year anniversary next week

4. A week after I was telling my sister that I dont really ever want kids I found out i was pregnant and I am a completely changed person, being a mom is the best thing in the entier world and I want 4 more kids!

5. I miss being in high school, i would do it all again in a heart beat if i could.

I am in Georgia... about 1/2 hour north of Burlington.  I actually work in South Burlington.  I have been wondering if there was anyone close to me on here, I haven't really been able to find anyone at this point, good to see I'm "not alone" so to say!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
