Our fairytale story!!!

Recommended Posts

Now I only call it a fairytale because everyone else does and it is a truly incredible story!!! Here it goes...

In November 2008, my girlfriend and I took a girl's vaca to Cancun. I had just stopped seeing someone and she had been on and off (more off) with her guy. On our second day there, we caught the attention of a group of cute guys. We all hit it off immediately...but there was one particular guy that really had me intrerested. Later that night I found out that he had approached my girlfriend and asked about me...so apparantly he was interested in me too! Luckily for us, we had 5 days left and they had 6 days left on their vacation. For the rest of the time, we all hung out as a big group. We hung out at the beach, ate breakfast, lunch, and dinner, went on excursions, and partied all together. As the days went on it became clear to everyone that Anthony and I had a stronger connection with each other so our friends decided to give us alone time! We talked and got to know each other and it was just an amazing chemistry. Unfortunately as our vacations came to an end, we were both sad and unsure of any future since he lives in Conneticut and I was from Canada. Regardless we decided we would exchange numbers and emails so that we could try to keep in touch. The day I left he walked me to my bus and we had a very emotional goodbye. My girlfriend sensed my sadness and we started talking about it. I wasn't sure how to feel because I really didn't believe in long distance relationships...I didn't believe that they could really work, yet I couldn't shake the feeling that this was something different. So I decided I would keep an open mind and that if I was still thinking about him when I got home, I would call him. Needless to say thats exactly what happened!!! I called him and we talked and he confessed that he couldn't stop thinking about me! We decided that this was definately worth pursuing and two weeks later he flew to Toronto for his first visit! We managed to fly back and forth every two weeks after that.

March 29, 2009. We were getting ready to go to the airport so I could catch my flight home. All of a sudden Anthony became very emotional and started on this very beautiful speech about how I am the love of his life...and then out of no where, he pulled the most beautiful ring out of his pocket and popped the question! It wasn't a grand gesture or anything extravagant...but it was so perfect! Of course I said yes!!! So of course being engaged changed everything...I decided we could no longer live apart...so July 17 I packed up and moved all my things to be with him! We've now been living together for a little over 2 months and it has been absolute bliss!!! Next up is our wedding...we've decided to go back to Cancun and get married exactly a year from the day we met! We can't wait!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
