Actually I only made 10 of them......thats why I made them so fancy. I sent them to "families" and then the invites will be sent to individuals.

We sent them out on Friday and everyone got them on Saturday, which was a nice suprise. My aunt said it was by far the cutest thing she's ever gotten in the mail and that she wants to save the bottle and fill it with Cabo sand as a memento.

One project down...only about 700 left to go

Love them! I have actually looked into the message in a bottle as my invitations but I am a little nervous about taking on such a big DIY project (we have 86 invitations going out!) ... thanks for attaching the link!

Oh my gosh, Amy... I missed this thread! Your first DIY project turned out great!! That was one of my options for my invitations, if only I knew how cheap and easy it was!! Thanks for posting the information - that'll come in handy for future brides (sheesh, where were you two months ago?! lol).

                  They're gorgeous, nice work!! :)

The boxes, bottles, corks, and small amount of sand came from marketinginabottle.com and my FI actually helped out and spray painted the mailing boxes to be cuter....silver on the outside and blue inside. It was actually a fun project and not too stressful since the items all came together in one nice little DIY kit!
