More confused than ever....I like lace??!!

Recommended Posts

I found when I was looking at dresses for me, I had a very specific idea of what I thought I wanted....and then I ended up with something totally different than what I thought I would end up with and I LOVED it. It's funny how surprised you can be once you start trying on dresses that things you though you would hate, you actually end up loving. If you love the lace dress, then by all means where the lace dress for your destination wedding! There are absolutely no "rules" as to what you can wear for your wedding, regardless of location. :) I had my wedding in the Mayan Riviera and I wore a "heavier" satin dress and thought it looked great! Good luck to you!

I love lace!! I haven't even began getting to the dress buying part yet, but I think if you love it then you should be wearing it on your special day if that's what you say yourself in! My mother and sister apparently picked my wedding dress out for me a year ago when they saw it in the boutique window, after I got engaged they mentioned it again and I asked what it looked like and they said "it's you" and then described it; I just looked at my mom and i'm like "so no lace?". It doesn't matter if the dress is made for the beach it's whether or not it's made for you!

The dress I ended up picking (I'm actually just going in to be measured and order it this week!) is lace as well and I never thought I would ever wear anything like it. I had a totally different idea of what I wanted, but my sister saw this dress and insisted I tried it on...just for fun. It was the first dress I ever tried on and I didn't want to take it off. I even tried to go look around after that, but nothing else compared. If you really love the dress, then I say go for it. Good luck with your decision. I'm sure you'll make a beautiful bride, no matter what dress you go with!

Too funny that I saw this thread! I was out shopping for a dress today and my girlfriend with me LOVES lace dresses, and they just aren't my personal style. Don't get me wrong, some of them are absolutely gorgeous - just not on me! But yes, I still tried some of them on just for her, sadly they just didn't have any stunning effect on me.

Another day of dress shopping - still no luck. I'm so jealous of those of you who have your dresses!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
