Question for Dreams Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

We are getting married in Feb 08 and just found out the rate is going to be higher than expected. I don't know about kid's rates yet, but I am going to speak with my TA, hopefully tonight.

We chose this time also due to preganancies of a couple of girls that are due in Sept and Oct of this year. So that seemed like a good time.

I already have people saying they will go, but they do not have the rate info yet.

Prices for 2008 are already out. I was quoted $1,506.00 FOR 2 ppl for 4 nights (land only). My TA got this quote from one supplier...she has another supplier she uses for Dreams but they have not released 2008 rates yet.

This is for late July 2008.

2) As of booking right now (I paid less by booking in Feb.)
<<Price with Hotel is $1038.74 per person.>>
And that is for 4 days 3 nights and it was only like $100 more or something for 6 days!! not sure why?? I have been going through a TA.
Only $100 more for almost double the time there?? That's awesome. Btw, I see you live in Irving - do you use a local TA?

Hi

We are getting married Oct 28 at Dreams

We used the travel agent Tammy suggested, Theresa at Vacation4Less. At first, we were nervous about cost for our guests and concerned people would consider it too expenisve but right now we are up to 60 guests - so it didn't seem to be an issue

Fortunately, In April, Dreams had a sale and offered deluxe rooms at $125/night/pp - many of our guests were able to get Air & Hotel & Transfer for 4/3night for $750 from Chicago & Minneapolis. I am guessing they run these specials so they can book fall rooms since it's their low season. Other guests have been booking on Orbitz for around $900/pp

If you are considering next June/ July I wouldn't be surprised if they did something like this again this fall.

Good Luck planning - let me know if you have other questions

Just a heads up...2007 rates and 2008 rates are VERY different now because of the new dophinarium.

for 2007 i was able to get rates in the $120-145 per person per night range, but 2008 are now coming in around $150-250 per person, per night.

also, January/February rates are going to be VERY different than June/july rates.

to get an idea if the rate you have is a good one, i'd compare it against the rate directly through the hotel and expedia/orbitz to see how your rate compares.

Hi! I'm another Dreams Bride..so our date is Jan 25th '08 and so far prices have been ~$900-1000 per person for 3 nights and flight. That price is without any specials from my TA, since we are still waiting for them to come out for January (which hopefully will be soon!!!). Hopefully the price will drop a little more. End of Jan./ Feb. is a great time to go to Cancun!! I've been twice at that time of the year and the weather is always perfect....not too hot and MUCH better than Jersey at that time!

  • 1 year later...

This post was really helpful! Does anyone know how far in advance prices become available? For instance I am looking into having my DW in June 2010 and as of right now the only flight and hotel prices that are out are up until Dec. 2009. It is so frustrating trying to choose between Cancun and Jamaica. I really want the trip to be affordable for my guest and would like to give everyone advance notice to save up.

I had the same problem when I started to plan my wedding. the prices for both hotel and flights do not come out until 6 months before. i just based my rates on the ones posted during the same month in the present year with a little extra added for inflation. this should at least give you an idea for pricing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
