My FI and I were able to get the price, but noone else was but to fault to our TA at all. Detla had a type-o. I just happen to call when detla had posted the wrong price, well when I was told that price I told them to charge it right then and there, because I knew how much the flights were going for. I called everyone and FMIL called and put five on hold, but did not have her card charged (dont know why). Well detla called my TA and said the people who had been ticketed were okay and they could have their tickets for that price, but the people who just had them on hold would not be getting that price. Thank god noone in my group was to upset, more bummed than anything. My mom watchs travel stuff all the time and gets emails when there are type-o or really good deals and when I told her about this deal she said pay now or you might not get it, so that just what I did. I'm so glad we got the tickets at that price and saved us 1k, but kinda sad my guest arent getting it, but what can I do about it, right?

wow, this is really useful info, I've never worked with a TA for personal travel . . . only for work and those flights always costed more than what I pay when traveling for leisure. But hearing your story, I might look into working with a TA.

I have never used a TA either. But for something this important as well as the coordination factor I wouldn't have booked any other way. TA's do this as their job, they have inside info that we do not have and they have probably seen every bad news travel story and know how to resolve them. I felt 100% comfortable using one. Plus they can get better rates for sure! And it allows you to focus on all the planning things you need to do, not coordinating all your guests travel and listening to their complaints.

For flights though, I find sometimes the reason they are cheaper is because they have weird connections and they are at really odd times. But if that doesn't bother you then that savings is incredible!

Wow. What a great savings your TA got you, and that is to bad that your guests will not be able to recieve that aswell, but at least you were able to! My FI and I are wanting to use a TA but living in a small town we are finding it difficult. The TA here in town is not TOO helpful and I have been finding better prices online than I have with her. But b/c this IS my wedding, I DO want to use a TA to help eliviate stress and organize all the different ppl traveling from all over to come to our wedding. Hopefully I find someone who is able to help me as I am starting to panic!!

Thank you for your story. I am so happy the TA was able to be a great help. Unfortunately I am not that lucky as of yet.
I look at the website to book the back and they are set a price, let's say 1200$ but when I call a TA and get a quote they give me $13-1500 pp.So currently it isn't worth it. So far I've set up a website for our guest to check out gives them all the info they need to book like a TA would do. I have high hopes for the TA I contact through BDW.

Thanks for the advice, I've been debating if we really needed one or not, and I think we definitely will be finding one!

See if you TA will do a price match. My TA will do a price match and then beat it by $10.

I thought that TAs were huge rip offs because they apparently take a huge cut and charge you more... what kind of travel agent/company did you use?
