Jenna- everyone is telling me the same thing..about hot and discomfort and bla bla..honestly? whatever we are going to wear were going to be hot in..but if you feel that its not weddingish(which is the same thing i felt when i tried them on, i have those dresses in my closet now just not white), and god willing we are only doing this once..who cares if its hot, thats what i told my mom when she was like its gonna be hot, this that whatever..i said ok im going to be hot, but if you feel more special in a big dress and more bridal then wear it..hell i wear shoes all the time i don't know how to walk in because i love them..so this is no diff :)

I went with a traditional dress, because I absolutely fell in love with it and now cannot see myself saying "I do" in anything else. It is pretty big though:

Brielle - by Maggie Sottero

after I bought it I started to freak a bit about how hot I would be, so I bought a second dress "just in case" - ie. just in case I get too hot, I can change into it for the reception - and just in case I decide that I don't want to trash the big, beautiful ballgown (which I intend to do as of now!) :) My second dress is also a Maggie, but I got it for $250 on ebay (never worn):

I initially considered wearing something beachy, and then went for a full BALLGOWN!

I say go whichever way your heart tells you to go when it comes to your dress...regardless of where you are having your ceremony (be it on the beach or in a church at home), I think ALL BRIDES should wear the gown that makes them feel the most glamorous and like a total bridal beauty!

We were at first planning a wedding here, until we started the whole process and hated everything about the cost, so I went out and picked the most beautiful gown....When we decided to do a DW, I didn't want to let go of the gown, it was THE one!!! I don't care how hot it will be out that day, I'm doing this once, and this is the dress.

Sure wish I got it that cheap.
I too went for Mon Cheri destination dress.Photo

I am hoping it is cooler than the more formal gowns....I really hate being overheated.

I went dress shopping with the intention of buying a beachy dress, light and flowy.  Instead I bought a ball gown that is traditional.  I fell in love with it and I didn't care that I was getting married on the beach, I was going to have the wedding dress of my dreams, not something that fits with beach theme

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
