Pictures/Digital Negatives

Recommended Posts

All beaches and sandals resorts take pictures during your ceremony and reception and you can purchase them a la carte! So pick and choose the ones you want.. then when you get home you can bring them to walmart (or wherever) and scan them onto a disk or scan them to your computer and then order whatever size you would like. Hope that helps!

Also I have hired tropical imaging for before and after pics off property, BD pics, and trash the dress pics! So Im not totally worried about the pics that Beaches is going to take.

LISA and KERIWITAK- so you just let me take the pictures they normally take, correct? you didnt buy one of their packages, you just bought the pics ala carte? let me know! thanks!

I am also getting married at Sandals, and for these very reasons (SUPER HIGH prices, low photo quality, poor customer service regarding photography, etc.), my fiance and I have booked a photographer off the resort to do the bulk of our photos. We will just be purchasing the (6) 8 x 10 photos for $150 and the $500 DVD from Sandals of the ceremony itself, and that's it for our photo budget going to Sandals.

I couldn't see spending thousands of dollars for sub-par photography when a professional off-resort photographer was an affordable alternative. Brian Nejedly is an American Photographer that lives in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and he's agreed to have his associate do a 3-hour combination portrait/TTD photo session for us for only a little over $1000! I am pretty sure we are going to end up with at least 100 digital negatives, so we feel like we got the deal of the century....and will end up with photos we can be proud of and enjoy for years to come!

Hope my suggestion to do a little research on local photographers in the area near your resort (and then go off the resort for a photo session) does the trick!

Let us know how things turn out. We have a friend who is an expert photographer and camera man but we also want him to be a guest so its only fair to ask him to take some photographs at the ceremony and reception alone. I figure that even if the resort pictures don't turn out very nicely, we would still have some from him.

Hi Bosi! That's great advice, but how did you get around their "on-site photographer" policy? Are you booking your off site photographer to stay at the resorts for 3 nights. As far as I understand, if I wanted to hired an off site photographer, they would have to stay at least 3 nights. I'm staying at Beaches, Negril and am wondering if there's a difference with Sandalshuh.gif? Please let me know!

As long as he is a guest in the hotel for at least 3 nights, they agree to let him take pictures. As far as I know, this is the same for both sandals and beaches.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
