Great ideas ladies!

We are thinking of finding something down in Mexico to bring back for the AHR. Maybe maracas with our names on them or something along those lines. We want to keep it cheap as well and thought we'd be able to get some deals when we were down there.

We are going to do a candy buffet, but just as part of the regular snacks and food set out. For the gifts we are getting the small woven beach bag favors, lining them with bright celophane and filling them with jelly bellies. Each one will hold about 10 jelly beans. That way the will be bright on the tables and still "beachy".

I love the shot glass idea! Having everyone drink to get a glass is a great idea:)

Great ideas everyone!! Love the photo idea!!

My friend is going back to Jamaica next week (our AHR is in April) so I have asked him to bring my back Jamaican Jerk spice (in bulk). I am going to put it in little baggies and attach a receipe card for Jerk Chicken and Jerk Tofu (I am a vegetarian). I will probably print a picture from our wedding on the receipe card.

We are not having a sit down meal (more appys, etc.) so I am not sure how to hand them out. I have a friend taking everyone's picture as they arrive so I might have her give them out after she takes the pictures. Does anyone else have ideas how they will give their out?

My AHR is in 3 weeks and I went out just after V-day and bought candy on sale. I got chocolate hearts and lips, some red, white and pink jelly beans and conversation hearts. I didn't spend too much at all as it was all on sale. If we have stuff left over, it won't go to waste with my family! lol

our AHR is pretty formal...and a bit beachy - kind of trying to bring the beach to those that couldnt make it to our cancun wedding.

Sooo, we went back and forth about different favors as well and finally came up with "beach in a bag"...we are taking organza bags, putting some unrefind sugar in them (for the sand), three mini chocolate seashells, and two chocolate dipped sand dollar cookies with a little thank you tag. the great part is that we have a great friend who is a great baker and is home making all the chocolate and cookies so it will save us alot of cash!! we found it practical, and hopefully a great snack after a night of drinking!

We're tossing around renting a photo booth for the AHR and not actually doing table favours. The booth will print pics off for each guest to take home and we can add our monogram to them.

Figured this would be the best "bang for our buck" although the buck will be a lot more expensive than traditional favours.

I love the idea of a candy bar also. Might do that instead of a dessert table!

Cheers

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
