Post Your Father of the Bride attire

Recommended Posts

My dad keeps asking me what he should wear. It's a beach ceremony. I'm going to wear a gown (obviously), FI is wearing a tan suit, best man will wear khakis and a white shirt, and my mom is planning on a semi-formal/cocktail dress. My dad will walk me down the aisle so I want him to be a little formal, but not be sweating in a suit.

What are your dad's wearing?

my dad is doing a tan pants and short-sleeved button down shirt. Not sure on the color yet, since our groomsmen might be wearing a light blue dress shirt we don't want my Dad to match them. But thats the basic framework for ours anyway :) My Dad is super casual, so the idea of a full suit is completely NOT his forte! Haha

HA, sounds like my dad! I was SHOCKED when he said he wanted to wear a suit.

And then, my dad's weird humor came out when he said: Just make sure I get a suit you can bury me in!

Ugh...dad!!! doh.gif NOT funny!

Tonir, where are you getting married?

I had really wanted early April (our anniversary), but since it's Easter the prices are super high and my sister (MOH) will be studying for final exams.

Amy haha your dad sounds EXACTLY like my dad. He would totally make some inappropriate death joke. I'm getting married in St. Thomas on April 27. We chose the end of April because it's the beginning of the off-season so the guests (and us) are getting much better rates.

So I think maybe I should just ask my dad what he WANTS to wear right? haha instead of dictating everything? Thanks for the advice!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
