Majestic Colonial - flowers?

Recommended Posts

Good morning all...

I have been trying to get in touch with my WC at the Majestic Colonial in regard to their flower options. Well, I did get some info, but it is not helpful at all. It is set up in a PowerPoint presentation with several bouquets and bouts that past brides have used. Not exactly what I was looking for.

If any of you are getting married at the Majestic, do you have any info you could pass along about their flowers?

Thank you soooo much! smile03.gif

I can definitely send you the PP Presentation. I am getting married May 12, 2010 at 3 p.m. in the Gazebo.

What about you? Also, if you end up finding some info out, would you mind forwarding it my way to daniellewebster at gmail dot com.

Thanks!

Hi Dani,

I was there in May and the WC told me they have albums and albums full of possible ideas in their office. She said they can guarantee local flowers but things like orchids are difficult. Because of this I am doing real touch flowers through a vendor I found on here and bringing them down with me. It actually will probably cost less money than the Majestic and I can use them again for my AHR. The WC did say though that details like flowers are done when you arrive so maybe that's why you just got a PP since they have many options...all of which aren't guaranteed the day of your wedding. If it's important to you to have exactly what you want I'd consider real touch...you can't tell the difference!

Orchids are usually available but cost extra outside the package prices. I know, I had them for my bouquet, the moms' corsages and centerpieces and they were gorgeous!! The centerpieces were orchids submerged in water and held down by rocks in tall cylinder vases, simple and elegant!!! I would inquire about specific flowers/colors you are interested in and take it from there. They have most flower choices, the only one I came across that was unavailable in DR were the hydrangeas.

Thanks for all the input.

I did get another email from the WC and it helped me a little bit more than the previous email.

I have been considering "real touch" flowers. I have gotten 2 samples from two seperate vendors. I have asked one of the vendors to send me another sample. Once I get that, then I think I will decide.

Have any of you ladies used silk or "real touch" calla lilies. If so, do you have any pics you could post or send me to daniellewebster at gmail dot com.

Thanks again guys!

Cheers!

I am using Roberta from plumeria flower boutique...she has many pictures with examples on her site and a blog with photos of the bouquets she makes. She is very reasonably priced also! She also has calla lilies.

You may have gotten lucky...I met with the WC in person on my site visit and they said they couldn't be guaranteed but if they were available you would have to pay extra. I want a bouquet of orchids so I'm not risking it and the real touch look real in pictures and don't wilt.

Keni,

Yes as long as they have the flowers you want at the florist, they should be able to make you any bouquet you choose, you should definitely bring a picture of a bouquet you like and send it via email to your wedding coordinator and bring the picture with you. That is a simple flower arrangement, I'm sure they can handle that.

Mexico,

Orchids and calla lilies are sometimes not in top shape in DR so this is why they advise against it sometimes. My wedding planner promised me she would only make me this bouquet if the orchids were exquisite and they were. I couldn't imagine holding any other flowers. Sure after some time, the edges turned slightly brown in one area, but they stayed strong and never got limp. They looked stunning and they were huge orchids (the plastic looking ones lol).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
