On the website they have an email address and phone # for a manager - I think I'll be contacting her tomorrow.
i would just put a quick but friendly call in asking if there are any updates but do know that it can be a process getting the changes in writing. the resorts can be a little slow since it isn't a priority since they gave a verbal ok.

Yes , this is what she told FI
As Tammy mentioned, they are not always quick to do this because it doesn't seem like an urgent priority as they have already given the ok. I would just give a call and ask if there are any updates and if not when she expects to hear anything.

This is the the thing that bothers me is that I sent her a quick email asking when she thought she'd have the update, and left a message....I know the paperwork takes time but I just wanted a call back or an email to say, hey Michele, got your message, and I should have it by the end of the week, or I'm waiting for the hotel to respond, or I have no idea or just something acknowledging that I've reached out to her

I guess you can contact a manager if you feel that strongly about it but if it is a manager from DW.com then it's not really her manager so I'm not sure what they would do at this point. If you know what agency she is actually employed by and that is the manager you are trying to contact just understand that this may not exactly make your TA quicker to respond to you and happy to help in the future. It depends on how it gets handled.
I think the reason I was thinking to contact a dw.com manager is because when I put my deposit on the rooms I have on hold, the credit card went to dw.com, not to Grand Palladium...I'm close to the point where I just want my money back and use the other TA. But since it seems like it's more like a lack of communication on her part than anything else, I will try to be patient for a little bit longer.

I really appreciate the perspective you are both giving me, and I just read both of your answers over the phone to FI - so he feels better too!

I have TA from dw.com who is also driving me up a wall because she makes so many mistakes and doesn't take a minute to get the right inforamtion. On two different groups of my friends had their direct flights canceled by the airline and were assigned a flight that gets in 4 hrs later. She didn't do a little research to get a flight that came in at the original time (I found it) and asked her and she said she had already accepted the changes. I was like next time if you don't have time to research call me and I will do it. I have also inserted my self as the middle man because people are not getting what they need from her or it is incorrect...I'm doing my VERY best to be patient but it's wearing thin. I still have to book a flight for our photographer and I might just do it my damn self....I found an amazing rate yesterday and by the time she got back to me it was gone.....ughhhhhh and there is a 3 hour time difference so I was stuck until 12:00 anyway...

So to get to your expereince.....sorry I had to vent because I don't want to tell my husband (we are legally married already!!!) because then he gets annoyed and mad.

I went through a similar experience where we booked very early and now all of the rooms were 35-40% off. The TA didn't offer up any information until I pressed her on this. She called her package company and they agreed to work with the hotel to try and get us the rates. I will say it was a slow process but she did get the hotel to re-book our rooms at the lower cost (some people to the lower cost some upgraded to the equivalant). We are on week 3 or 4 now so be patient and be nice to her (this has been the hard part for me). I had to stop and say to myself she is the person who can make this happen and she has almost finished it all.

Hope it works out for you.

I didn't want to get FI involved for the same reason - now that it's resolved he's fine with not needing to know anything!

Well she did finally call me yesterday and apologized...she got the rate down to $400 less per person...sent it in writing to me and promises to have an amended contract to me ASAP. It's very frustrating and I am always very nice. I don't want to change TAs at this point. She did mention her daughter is getting married this weekend too so I'm sure that's keeping her a little busy too.
I do feel much better now and was able to send my guests info on the reduced rate!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
