Married in the DR Punta Cana area?....Need advice on best hotel!!

Recommended Posts

I got married recently at Paradisus Punta Cana which is a 4 or 5 star hotel but cheaper than its sister hotel Paradisus Palma Real. I posted a review of the place in the wedding review forum.

Dreams resort is nice too, I've stayed at the Dreams resort in los cabos and it was wonderful. Whatever you do, DON'T get married at Occidental resort! I stayed there a few days and it is definitely not wedding material :)

Soon2b,

I am in the same predicament...I know people who have stayed at DPC and said it was awesome, including for kids. DPB looks a lot nicer though and was just renovated last Dec. I think we are pretty much leaning towards DPC, but it is soooo tough trying to figure out a hotel for so many people.

Good luck.

We recently got married at Dreams Punta Cana and it was the perfect place to take your friends and family! The kids area is really good, and the social aspect is fantastic!! The beach is really nice as well, and you can walk quite aways down in as well. The waves are quite small at DPC so you can happily float in the ocean. Price wise, I'd say it's the best deal for a high quality resort. Our Toronto guests paid around $1600 all in. Hope this helps you out and no matter which resort you choose, you'll have a fantastic time with everyone!!

id pick dreams pc bcus it seems bigger. i was considering the other one too but think about this, dreams pc was voted best pool in caribbean and also best family resort as well in like 07.

Dreams pc was also recently renovated.

now for tripadvisor, theres going to be bad reviews on EVERY resort. you make how you want your vacation to be. if you book your resort with the feeling of having a bad experience, you will. stop trippin! get off tripadvisor!

just enjoy your time. wherever you intend to stay!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
