Where to go in town? Bars?

Recommended Posts

I have lots of guests that are coming to Cabo early and thought I would try and have a fun night out for everyone in Cabo. Does anyone have suggestions on where to meet on a Thursday night around 9pm. I'm looking for something that is more like a lounge than a club or a really loud bar. We have quite a few parents/older adults.

I already know of Cabo Wabo, but am looking for other suggestions. Thanks!

Squid Roe is very popular and can be very fun, however it gets VERY crowded and A LOT of locals go there. Every time I have been there, if I didn't have any of my guy friends around me, I was getting touched and grabbed by drunk local guys...

Next door to Squid Roe is a newer bar called Mandala. I LOVE that place. I live in Southern California and that club is very LA-ish. Light up dance floor inside, rooftop bar and light-up dancfloor up there as well, cabanas which you can rent with bottle service...

my birthday was the day after the wedding and Dreams offered a Pub Crawl that night, so we went on it. First stop was Cabo Wabo, second stop was Mandala, third stop was Squid Roe. People who had been to Squid Roe stayed at Mandala, those who hadn't been went to check it out but came back. We stayed and partied until almost 4.

There is another fun bar called the zoo, however my hairstylist's husband owns it and she mentioned that they are going to shut it down soon to open up a "vegas style" bar/lounge. It may or may not be open in October when you get married.

There is also a smaller place called the jungle, we just popped in for a few minutes to have a shot as we were doing the crawl :)

Hope this helps!!

Taxi vans depart at 10:00, so if your reception is over at 10:30 (the standard time) you will miss it....Desires is a good option for after the wedding.

Its on the property so if you want to go change or just freshen up you can go up to your room and take your time and do so. Thats what we did and it was nice for Bill and I to finally have a few moments to ourselves. Then we went down to Desires and joined the rest of our group. The place is kind of small, so its like your reception continues without the parents and those who are done for the night.

Wow, I've been gone from this forum for awhile but just came back to check if there was a section for Eastcoast brides (my cousin is getting married in May)..anyway..

Bars in Cabo...you will not find a lack of them in town that's for sure! If you are looking for something low key (not a dance club) then I would take them to the marina. There are lots of restaurants, bars and shops with seating right out on the boardwalk. If you get sick of one place you can always walk over to another. I'd start with Nowhere Bar or the Tiki Bar.

Otherwise, the place we ALWAYS hang out at (I've been to Cabo now 5 times in 3 years) is just outside of Cabo Wabo. There are three outdoor bars mixed in with the little shops and there is always a fun group of people there. One of them is called the Jungle Bar and one is Slim's the Smallest Bar in the World. The one in the middle of those two is where I suggest you go (sorry I can't think of the name). And if you want to dance/do contests/drink shots with people shaking your head and blowing whistles in your face, Cabo Wabo is right upstairs or the Giggling Marlin is right across the street.

Another relaxing place is Hemmingways (it has a classy atmosphere and cigar bar)

Hope that helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
