since we've booked our date about 2 weeks ago I haven't gotten around to telling everyone, but I just got my STD's and I want to send them out..is it rude to send a facebook email to ask for addresses or thats just wrong? lol

I'm so not in the mood to make all those phonecalls, because we booked the place when we went on vacation to DR and so then there will be 100 questions about the vacation and then the wedding date.

Does that sound awful of me? lol

I don't think it's rude at all. I've had a few friends ask for my address over Facebook! What I did was send out a mass email (some of which I swiped from Facebook) as a "wedding update" and provided a bit of information about dates and the destination (not the particular resort) and asked for everyone to kindly reply with their address so I can send them the formal invitation. It has gone over really well since people know the info is coming so they're not really asking questions!

The only thing that I owuld caution is sending the message to everyone.

On facebook, when they reply it will go to everyone, not just to you so some poeple may have a problem with a massive list of your friends and family all getting their address.

There are two things you cabn do to get around this, both will take a little bit more time.

1. send the emails to each person individually - this will also help you keep track later incase you loose an address.

2. set up a facebook group about your wedding, and make sure you make the setting so that only you can add epople to the group. You will then have to add everyone to the group, and wait for them to accept. From the group page you will be able to send a message to all people who have accepted the group invitation, and when they reply it will go only to you...

I just know that sometimes my friends loose their phones and email everyone in the one email through facebook to get their numbers back, and everyone gets to see the phone number of everyone that replies... I never reply to those just becasue I dont want 50 random people to have my mobile number :)

I would think making a group on facebook would be fine if you do not want to individually message everyone(which would make there be less chance for drama) but just be really sure to make the group private, so that it does not show up on your profile page. Because then those that are not invited see it and that would be a mess.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
