Now that title sounds funny.

I had a hard time finding a STD that I liked because I wanted something personal and not too formal. That's just the kind of people we are. So I decided to DIY.

Here's what I concocted.

I wanted a postcard, so I designed this one myself and printed it off.

Designed the back and simply printed on the backside of my 4x6 photo paper. I did have to test several different brands to make sure that the ink didn't bleed when printed on the back. I loved taking the picture for this. We ordered a 48oz margarita that was so good.

I decided that the postcard was not elaborate enough, so I found some cheap shells at Michaels. They had a bundle of 48 on sell for under $2. I have also seen these bundles sold in the Dollar Store. For the shell on the right, I simply hot glued the magnet to the back. For the clams, I had to find a way to stabilize it's weight so it would hang on a fridge. I did this....

The Dollar Store had tiny little popsicle sticks on sale. There was probably 100 in the bag, but I only used maybe 10. I cut the popsicle to the desired length for the clam, glued it, then glued the magnet on the back.

We are going to hand deliver most of the STD since it's close friends and family. We don't have to worry about mailing them, so I found these bags and tags at Michaels. I also picked up the little "Fiesta" rubber stamp for $1 because I thought the margarita was appropriate for our STD.

It looks cute hanging on our fridge, but now that I created these I have the self-doubt. Are these too cheesy? Ahhh.....I double think EVERY decision I make.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
