HI Ladies

Here is my contact with the new MP Photography people, she emailed me last week with the new price list (which I can't find a way to post on here so will try to copy it somehow). The prices have gone up and they do different packages now so I'm finding it hard to choose!!

Here's the email address:

Her name is Anais so if you email her she should be able to help.

Hello all... just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who has posted on this thread. I'm doing a Beach Palace wedding in June 2011, but this thread has been so incredibly helpful with all the vendor tips, pics, etc. It has made me super excited to plan my wedding!

I'm set to get married in March at 4pm:)  I don't want to use the photographers they provide. My  question is will I have to pay for 2 nights for my photographer?  I know check in is at 3pm. I want photos  to start before 3pm and into the evening.  Has anyone else been in this situation? If so, how did you handle it? If I don't have to pay for 2 nights stay that would be great!!!!!

Congrats to you amh777!  I LOVED Beach palace.  Actually my entire family loved it.  We actually went up there for two seperate days of our trip.  It is completely different than Moon Palace...a bit trendier, with a FABULOUS rooftop pool with the most amazing view!!!  The beach was beautiful too....hence why we did the TTD photos there on our send day.  Plus you are just a walk away from the biggest shopping mall there!

Goodluck with your planning....I'm sure it will be fabulous!!

PS - To the girls asking about how they get answers to questions from their WC's on things like scripts, flowers, cake, decorations, etc....my recommendation to you would be to do a Word document broken down by subject.  This has worked for several other brides on this forum and it worked great for us too.  Not only did it cover several topics at once with one email....but it made it easier to organize my thoughts.  Instead of just shooting out a few or several emails with various questions in them.  Plus....the answer to the script question is (Yes - you can write your own script as long as it holds certain elements - See the MP 2009 thread and various reviews of past weddings).

Anabrina -

I ordered 140 cups from Flyboys & had WAY too many.  We used them in the aisle, & I had 36 guests to throw petals as we left the gazebo.  We used them again at my AHR (but we had bubbles there too so not everyone threw them there).

I still have some left over!

I wanted a few different colors & went overboard on my petal order because I was worried about not having enough.

I emailed the photographer for MP as well.  The prices did go up but the packages seem the same.  The website she sent me is the same pictures that were up before. http://www.palacechannel.com/  To me it doesn't look like a new company but that they have just raised their prices.

One bride on here mentioned that her WC from Palace resorts said it was fine to purchase a day pass.  Some photograhers require you get 2 nights for them, I believe Tamm's.   As for check in at 3:00pm, that is technically the time your room will be ready but often it is available before and if the photograher isn't really using the room and just taking pictures it shouldn't be an issue getting in earlier.

Are you getting married at The Moon Palace? I would just say in an email to your WC that you have a guest coming on the day of the wedding, staying one night, but you want them to be there from say 11am on the day, but they don't need thier room until 3pm (or something along those lines) and they will be fine. don't mention anything about them being a photographer, they're just one of your guests. it'll be fine and dandy :) one night is PLENTY!

I believe you were going to use Marvin at Mayan Floral.  How were your flowers?  Would you recommend using him?

I did! he was great, i would recommend. i only used him for buttonholes, corsages and confetti but it was perfect! and 30% of the cost of the MP!! GO EXTERNAL!! x

Woodsy-- you used an outside floral vendor? Did you just have the flowers delivered to your room like it was something being sent as a gift? I was just wondering on the logistics of it.. whether or not MP made this difficult to do...  Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
