We skipped the reception at the moon (WAY to expensive) and just had our first dance surrounded by all of our friends and family at our AHR. Nobody felt cheated on a reception there because our dinner lasted for like 3 hours and everyone got to chat then we went to a mariachi thing that night and others went to the disco. We saved thousands and spent it on a AHR where everyone got to feel involved!

There is someone....I have the name and email in my email at home. However, when I emailed them about several of the different tours and activities...they basically told me (in two seperate emails) that all tours are scheduled upon arrival.

On the flip side....I am scheduling a tour to the dolphin experience over at Isla Mujeres (not a part of the Palace vacation dollars package). Since they are an outside vendor I am scheduling our time there ahead of time.

Good luck!

My FI got upset b/c I said we should just forget it and go on an African safari, lol!

$3600 for 2 people for a week!!!!!!!! I thought August was the low season! I traveled to Russia, China, Mongolia, and Japan for a month and it cost less than 2 weeks at the Moon Palace! My FI insists it wil be okay and not to worry b/c we will get the free room nights (we have almost 10 already) and get at least 4 nights comped but still.

I am stressing b/c with the dress, photography, ceremony, and travel fees this is turning out to be an expensive event. It is still not as much as if it would be if we had it in NY, but still....

I am so worried now because that is so much money to ask people to spend. My cousin who is a bridesmaid is not coming now sO I am worried that everyone else will back out b/c of the price. I know his people won't but I am concerned about mine!'

If people stay off the resort is there a limit on day passes? Can they only come in the day of your wedding or can they come in whatever day you want? SO MUCH $$$!!!
If you really want certain ppl to come and they are afraid of the price, offer to help pay part of their room or something. Or ask them to come for only a 2 night stay. Thats what we did. We are staying 5 nights but are asking our guests to only stay two. We also offered to offset the balance on family by paying half their stay. Its a lot of money, but if you want certain VIPs to come it may be the only way. So far our wedding in total has been close to 4,000, not including decoration costs, etc.

AHR is at home reception.

WoodsyLou- Love the idea about going to a bar and just bringing your own docking station-- very smart and budget friendly.

SlapSappy-- Wow that is quite a sticker shock. Is that with your group rate, did you check orbitz.com or travelocity.com to get some other price quotes. I did and they matched what i found online to what they would offer me for my group rate.

Miss Bug- The white setup was included.... feel free to look at my complimentary beach setup Mers pics pictures by themoultonwedding - Photobucket

Sorry guys I know I never got around to a review the one time i tried it timed out and I got to annoyed to do another one since i lost it all..... i will always answer any budget friendly questions though cause I was the queen of budgeting! We only spent $485 for the complimentary wedding and that included the horse & carriage & the dvd!

Just want to give one piece of advise for any brides-to-be before I get round to doing a review....make a list of all the photos you want and give to your photographer....I read this advise soo much on this site and didn't do it because I had the attitude that the photographer would know what to do....however if you want specific photos, you need to let your photographer know! I completely forgot about a few photos, and am kinda sad about it...although I know my photos are gonna be amazing without them, I wish i'd remembered...just silly ones like when all the men lift the bride up, or when everyone is running into the sea....I thought I'd remember everything because I was soo into the photos...however on the day my mind just went blank!

Just wanted to share my wisdom for any forthcoming brides....get an email sent to your photographer with some bullet points..or get a list printed to give them on the day :)
Thank u thank u. I have been hearing about this all along and still haven't gotten to it. congrats again. Enjoy your honeymoon!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
