I have picked the basic package so that I can choose the exact bridal and table arrangement that I want. I also will have a outside photography for the wedding.

I have gather so much valuable information on this website to know exactly what I want or do not want. This website has really helped prepare me for the wedding of my dreams without having to travel there beforehand. Good luck everyone for I am looking forward towards my day in June 2010

Hi Ladies :)

I noticed that there are a few people on here that are wondering about the rules regarding photographers.

We hired Tamm's Photo's for our pictures and when I confirmed with the resort that they would be allowed in they said yes it was fine as long as they are staying at the resort. They informed me the no outside vendors policy is due to the contracts they have signed with their onsite photographers. The contract states that no-one who is licensed to have a photography company based in Mexico is allowed to do business at the resort. As long as your photographer is not a Mexican citizen or operating a Mexican photography company and they are staying at the Moon Palace they will be allowed to do your photos. Their policy has become stricter in the last couple of years so the pictures that you are looking at may have been taken a few years ago.

I hope that helps - I know I was getting pretty frustrated with their policy until it was better explained to me :)

I am getting so confused about this! When I spoke to my WC they said it was fine to have an outside photographer if they stayed a night. I asked about the non Mexican citizen issue and they didn't know what I was talking about. They thought it was absurd and a load of rubbish.

I don't know what the right rules and regulations are and I want to book my photographer asap. I know other brides have hired Mexican photographers and haven't had a problem though.

Can anyone confirm this one way or the other please? Also, if you have a contract which states this then I would be grateful if you could upload it.

Many thanks :)

Hi There,
Originally I had looked into Del Sol and they responded that they don't offer packages at the Moon Palace which is when I started to question their policy - when I contacted the moon palace as to why they explained it was because of their contracts with their onsite photographer.

I don't have a written contract for the photographers but they're booked with my group and I have advised that they are professional photographers so the resort is fully aware that they are coming, and since they have done photos at the Moon Palace before and never had an issue I don't forsee it being a problem at all.

If the resort is saying you are fine as long as they stay the night then I personally wouldn't worry about it - just make sure the resort is aware of their reservation. If you are really concerned about it then I would just ask your WC to do up a contract stating that they are allowed onsite just to put your mind at ease.

Do you have a travel agent you are working with? If this is causing you major frustration this might be something they are better able to assist you with.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
