In return we are purchasing a few new camera gadgets he needs to deal with the sun....but he is so excited and so are we!

Kathryn190 - WOW....that is an amazing dress. I could never pull that dress off...I'm WAY to curvy in a not slender in the middle kind of way! LOL.....but I love it!

Thank you :) I'm currently spending ALOT of time at the gym!
I love all the dresses on here

Hi Ladies!

I have just booked with moon palace for Feb 19 2011 after a couple of grueling months of back and forth with which resort to choose. There is definitely a ton of info on here about the moon palace which will take me forever to read through.

I still haven't signed any kind of group contract as of yet and I have just been working with the Miami office wedding coordinators directly. Was wondering for you girls who have allready started this process, do you recommend going through a TA or directly through MP? It seems as though they don't honor group rates or the freebies unless you go through them, but was wondering if it would save my guests some $ if I went through a TA. Is it too late to go through a TA if I sign something with MP?

Any direction would be greatly appreciated!

Personally, I would suggest working with a TA. MP has honored the group contracts done by TA's, as well most TA's will work with you on a Group Contract with the hotel. That is what they do best! Plus, if they are good, they can get you package deals that match or beat anything you can find. My suggestion would be to try the BDW TA's....all you have to do is submit an inquiry from the flashing colorful banner at the top of the page. Tammy....the host of this forum....is one of the TA's and she has been very helpful with my group. I am not doing a group contract, but I know she would be able to help you...as I am not her first MP wedding by any means.

Good luck! Don't go it alone when there are TA's that can take the stress off of you! :)

Hello! Welcome to the Moon Palace Brides! You are right! this is the perfect site and forum to find all of the information that you need. It makes the life of planning so much better and easier. I would suggest also taking a look at the 2008 & 2009 Moon Palace Bride Thread. On that thread, there are brides that have posted long and extensive reviews after their weddings with pictures.

Personally, I am working directly with MP. I found that it has been very easy and simple. By doing so it was a breeze getting my contract approved and validated with everything I wanted. The Moon Palace Hotel Sales Associate (Janina Mendoza, from the Miami office) has been awesome! My guest contact her directly...and everyone has said that she has been great to work with. She has even helped with searches for cheap plane tickets. MP sent me a link to where guest can make an initial direct deposit online that goes directly to MP with confirmation. So there should be no complications when we get down there. I put the link on my website..which you can review in my signature box. Most of my guest were pleased with the rates since it also included the summer promotion "Passport to Savings" (from what I recently have seen online is different).

However, there are other brides that were happy with their TA's and they might want to chime in with some insight as well.

HAPPY PLANNING!!! :-)

Hello Ladies!!

I am back in the USA and all i can say is AAAA....MMMM...AAA....ZZZ..III...NNNN...GGG!!!

My wedding was every little girls dream and Kalena was absolutly a god send! She arranged things for us that weren't suppose to be allowed, rearranged for all of our guest to be together, got everyone organized, and she was wonderful. It was a little windy that day. We did the free package and ended up upgrading our cake to a two tier (we had 48 ppl in attendance and had a ton of extra cake), the videographer--$375 (worth every single penny to have our video) and the horse and carriage ride. Everything else was taken care of with the free package. We did sign a certificate at the wedding, did a hands ceremony and a sand ceremony, wrote our entire script, the sound system played all of the music and you could hear it really well, they used a microphone for the ceremony and it worked well- you could hear us crying as we said our vows, we got the rehersal and did our cocktail hour after the rehersal, the private dinner function at arricefes (the brazilian steak house) they ended up setting it up for all 48 of us out on our own terrace outside, i had extra roses that kalena had them spread over the table for dinner and our extra programs.

The contact leading up to the wedding was VERY frustrating, but once I got there it all fell into place and worked out to be magical. I HUGE reminder, no fresh flowers can be brought in or out of Mexico! Everyone kept saying mine were beautiful and some people even asked to smell them, it was funny when I let them and then said "oh they are fake!"

I will be happy to answer any questions you guys have-- I am currently uploading a TON of photos onto my photo bucket account and I will give you the link soon. Here are some of the many

I did a TTD session at the Sun Palace and it turned out amazing-- I will be posting those pics soon too! Hope you are all having a great day and happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
