As far as wedding planning...I have some of it done. I now am just getting stuff here and there until I get there. They assigned me a wedding coordinator assistant a couple of months ago until I get my actual wedding coordinator within 3 months of my wedding. They have been very helpful in updating my file when needed. I am sure that if you need help or have questions about anything they will help you. I suggest getting a binder with dividers on each category of your wedding, to do list, and timeline (I'm still working on the timeline)... because it can get overwhelming. I also created my budget on theknot.com which helps.

I'm just a little nervous about the music and ballroom.... decorating it correctly without really seeing it....I have to rely on the wedding coordinator A LOT and vendors because each item is separate from chairs to china) but I 'm going to try not to worry about it too much.

If you need any help with anything (information) just let me know.

Good luck with your planning! :-)

Ashley

thank you for your information and the same to you good luck and if you need anything let me know.

I am not really worried about the music. My fiance is a dj so he will put together a compile of music and he will talk to the entertainment person that we choose to go with!

As far as a binder and being organized.. I guess I can do that.. I just don't think I need one as of yet. I dont know ...I usually am very organized,b ut i feel I just can't be organized since I can't plan much yet1

Hi FutureMsMoulton,

I cannot believe how fast the days are going..... :)

I remember reading on the website that they tours require reservation upon arrival through the "Palace Vacation Planners". Not sure where they are located. Just looking now at the website, it looks like you can also email: toursinfo@palaceresorts.com for more information.

Hope this helps.

Our best friends got married there a few years ago...they said when you arrive you check in and go immediately to the HoneyMoon desk (they take you there). This is where you will drop your dress off to be steamed, arrange the honeymoon breakfast in bed and dinner, and make all tour reservations. I asked if it was frustrating not to make any of these arrangements before hand and there answer was, "Not really...we somewhat planned out a loose schedule for the week and knew kind of when we wanted to plug in activities or visit the other Palace resorts. Then when we got there they walked us through arranging for everything."

Hope that helps. :)

20 days....HOW EXCITING!!!! :)

I got notification that my dress shipped out from China on Monday! Yippee!!!!!

I know this topic comes up alot, timing of music, but I never really see any concrete answers on how many songs are played...played for what...and most of all - if you bring an ipod, do the songs just run together or is someone in the gazebo clicking from song to song? Just curious if anyone else has seen an answer to this.

Thanks.

Hey

do you mean the music for the ceremony or for the reception/cocktail hour?

my WC said we needed to look for 5 songs for the ceremony, these were:

1. waiting before you arrive

2. bride walking down the aisle

3. signatures

4. song when the minister pronouces you husband and wife

5. walking out

if you have an ipod for your cocktail/reception and you're not paying for a DJ package, then it just plays and it's your responsibility. you can have a cheap DJ package which is:

package 1 $1495

Four hours DJ, Sound and lights

2 speakers

1 wireless mic

8 LED's lights and consoles

Package 2 $995

Full 2 hours, DJ, Sound and lights

2 speakers

1 wireless mic

8 LED's lights and consoles

Package 3 $385

Full 4 hours self cd or Ipod music system

1 speaker

CD player and mixer

Package 4 $220

Full 2 hours self cd or ipod music system

1 speaker

cd player and mixer

for package 3 and 4 there is no dj, so you have to have a designated person to do it for you.

personally, if you're considering 3 or 4 i wouldn't bother! i'd purchase an ipod docking station with speakers, then you can plug that in. it might cost about £150 but you get to take it home with you!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
