Thanks for this review.  It definitely helped me.  We are considering just getting the sound system too.  How did this work for announcements like first dance, cake cutting, etc?

Does anyone know if it's possible to change your wedding package?  After deciding to get an outside photographer and flowers I'm actually paying almost a $1,000 more than I would have had I just got the free package and added things on.  I wish I found this site before I booked!

Jenn, You just have to contact your WC and tell her you want to switch.  That's why we originally picked the Complimentary package and were going to change later. But only did this as a result of the advice on here. If you already paid for half of the package either ask for a refund now or ask to have it applied to your room payment. You don't want to have to wait until after your wedding to get a refund. Either way get the decision in writing. That was the other reason why we signed the contract for Comp package, we didn't want to have to pay for half upfront esp since we planned on using Palace dollars to pay for the package. You should have a new contract drawn up too.

Perfect.  It just makes so much more sense to me.  Does anyone have the detail info on the complimentary package including the flower and cake options?

Our party is fairly small so wedecided to use the free reservation for the reception dinner on the terrace of one of the restaurants instead. That way our welcome and reception are covered for free.

Hey FutureMsMoulton....crazy girl...can't sleep the last nights before you leave? I imagine I will be the same! :)

My H2B and I originally planned for a wedding in our area..picked a date (10/23/10), booked a hall, picked the colors and ordered a DJ. After alot of thinking and looking at budgets we decided to change everything and plan a destination wedding. My parents have been to the resort 5 times and they love it! My sister also went their on her honeymoon.

We booked our date back in 10/09 and up until recently have had nothing but a great experience. As of right now, we have almost 40 guests attending..with 5 staying offsite. Although this amount may change either way. We have chosen the Diamond Collection. Without really knowing which was the best to go with at the time we went with this package. My 2 previous WC's were great! Responded almost immediately and had all of my questions answered. I obtained an onsite WC 2 weeks ago and haven't had as much luck getting answers. I am getting a little worried considering the wedding isn't too far off. Thanks for all of the ideas you ladies have posted as I have decided to borrow some.

I look forward to getting to know more about all of your planning experiences and happy we can all share in the same excitement!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
