It is a fairly large resort, depending on where your room is, it could be a long walk.  I am staying in the Sunrise section but the catholic chapel is on the far end of the Nizuc section.  It will be a long walk, in the heat, possibly windy.  That is why I plan to have them take me over on a golf cart (passing on the horse). I will be hot enough in my dress that I don't want to walk 10-15 mins in heels sweating to death.

If you go to google earth and look up the Moon Palace it will give you an idea of how large the resort really is.  We measured it with the scale provided on the google earth map and from end to end it is close to a mile long.  A walk to the gazebo could be close to a half mile walk depending on where you are staying at the resort.

I have stayed at Aventura Spa Palace and it was nice.  Smaller than MP but still lots of options for food, etc.  When we went on our Zip Line excursion we stopped at Playacar Palace and it seemed really nice.  A lot smaller so less food options, but I loved the location in Playa del Carmen, you are right in the city and within walking distance to stuff a little more culturally related to Mexico as the resorts are a little vanilla.  I have also heard great things about Beach Palace.

We are staying at sun palace for our honeymoon. It's just down the road from mp, and adults only! Beach looks gorgeous too.

I am also passing on the horse. I'm just going to request the the golf cart stop kinda far back, so I'm won't be getting dropped off right on the aisle in the thing :)

Moon Palace is HUGE! I couldn't have imagined walking from my room to the gazebo, in my dress, or in the heat! Don't get me wrong, we did walk a lot at MP every other day, however I wouldn't have been up for doing that on wedding day. At first when we chose MP I wasn't interested in the horse and carriage, but the more photos I saw the more convinced I got. Now, I'm soo glad we done it...what an entrance!

If your really against it, you could go for a golf buggy...

If I remember right, we had a song playing for hubbie walking down the aisle, one for the bridesmaid, one for my entrance, one in the middle, think when we were signing stuff, and one at the end. Hope this helps :)

We had one for the moms walking down the aisle (or bridesmaids), the carriage approaching, bride, sand ceremony, and recessional . 5 in all.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
