I was having problems too.  I have great communication with Carilis in the Miami office but she doesn't take care of the wedding details just booking.  My WC in Cancun is Valeria and it took over 1 month for her to respond to emails and she only did so after I emailed her boss.  I request a new WC but they wouldn't switch me.  So I finally got to talk on the phone with Valeria and reserved my reception and cocktail party locations.  She said that flowers and cake are not picked until we get there but that the food menus she will need 1 week in advance.

They explained that they are very busy since they are coordinating weddings on site and need to tend to those brides.  Which I completely understand, however, when I send and email and it takes a month to respond, that is a little ridculous.  I would at least appreciate a follow up email saying it's been received.

Also while on the phone with Valeria, she said all the photograhy through Moon Palace has changed and she was going to have the photography department contact me separtely and I still have not heard from them.  She also said she would get a quote for me regarding table decorations, still nothing.  And she said there are 2 companies with work with for sound/light packages (we are using an ipod) and she would email me that informtion and I still have nothing.

When Valeria hadn't responded to my email after 3 weeks, I had resent it asking if it was received.  One week after that my mother-in-law emailed and ask Carilis in the Miami office if she could have her contact us, and nothing.  So I finally emailed [email protected]  That is when my WC's boss responded saying she wouldn't switch and would have her contact me.  Which she did with the wrong date of the wedding, which caused me to freak out even more.  I then emailed [email protected] and ask to be switched.  They did not switch me but had her call me.  So my recommendation would be to email [email protected] and see if you get a response that way.

It takes her at least a week to respond to an email so I tried calling today and found out I've been talking to my MP WC, I thought it was my Miami WC who I was never assigned to. So I was told who my Miami WC is and of course I got her voicemail. I would like to speak to someone over the phone and not on email. I have a million questions like what are my exact comps for booking more than 75 nights with the group contract, any upgrades such as flowers or decorations, dj, things like that. When do we pay for them and what's their payment method? Can we select our own vows to be read, can I have readers at the ceremony.

I also emailed Reyna at the salon over a week ago with the appointments I need to make and have not heard back from her.

Is anyone having the same peoblem with actually communicating with someone? UGH

how many people do you have going? I had 33 guests (5 kids) and i ordered 15 'cones' of confetti (from an external vendor) and that was fine!

Having just got married at the MP, i really feel like you shouldn't worry! they don't reply to you quickly because they are dealing with weddings that are now, when you get there you'll be pleased that they're focussing fully on you and not on people that are getting married weeks in the future, i assure you!

what is it you need from your WC exactly? when do you get married?

i had similar delays, so in the end i did a word document and emailed it, it had details of EVERYTHING i wanted (not asked for, wanted) and i emailed it. Kalena reponded about a month later confirming it all. sorted!

oh p.s. the photo thing, i was there when the WC's received the emails about the photography, i think the prices are going up i'm afraid. all the WC's were so angry/upset but there's nothing they can do about it. i'm not sure as of when they go up, and how much by, i guess they're trying to negotiate before they release costs.

I had my reception and ceremony outdoors. It was just gorgeous. My ceremony took place on the beach and the reception was on the Tucan Terrace and Garden! My WC was Angelica and I absolutely LOVED her!  We stayed at Sunrise and everyone loved our section! It was a movre active section compared to Nuzic.

I have the same WCs in Miami and Valeria. Carilis always responds within a day or so. But I agree Valeria takes a long time. I couldn't even get my first choice locations and had to settle even though I requested it in Feb.. Anyhow I'm very nervous how this is going to turn out. I also noticed their initial quotes for items are high and they will negotiate with you. This is frustrating because I feel like I am getting ripped off. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
