I agree with asbarret....it takes a long time to book everything.  I estimate we sat at the spa desk for about 30 minutes and the travel desks for another 30 or so minutes to get our tours booked.  We booked the trip to Isla Mujeres and the Tulum trip, but cancelled the Tulum trip after we got back from Isla Mujeres.  It is a LONG day of activity, so we just decided to go back up to Beach Palace again instead and walk to the mall.

We also used our $300 spa credit for a couples 50 minute massage.  It was incredible....other than the paper underwears they make you change into!  LOL  Seriously the spa is amazing...I wish we would have booked more time there.

the trips included in the $1500 credit are:

-Tulum

-Chichen Itza

-Wet n Wild

-Holkan Kingdom park zipline

-Shopping/Palace resorts tour

-Xu Ha

That was it. You will have to pay out of pocket for the rest. Some dolphin trips are free with a certain promotion and they do the timeshare tour that gives you extra credits for tours and spa even if you do not sign up for it.

Only overall problem you will run into is the free tours are booked super fast. Like right after you check in you should book your tours immediately or you run the chance of them getting overbooked and you will be unable to get a spot. I also suggest staying 5+ days. This gives you a higher chance to attend more trips before they are overbooked.

Here are some pictures of the flowers. The bouquet was the complimentary one. I asked for the cascading style. I also asked for all roses and gave the colors I wanted. Had I known how pink the pink roses would be, i would have dropped them and kept it to only orange and white roses. I am not a fan of pink, lol!

But overall I think it was nicely done for a free bouquet.

The corsage below was what I bought for my sister's hand. It wasn't big at all, but at the same time it was nice. Had I known the size I would have bought all the women a hand corsage to wear.

Here is another picture of my bouquet in the light if this helps to see better.

Hello Ladies- I need advice...

My MP wedding coordinator is Angelica Martinez and for the most part she has been fine (slow with responses but that seems to be the norm).  Anyway, I have been trying to plan our cocktail hour, reception or dinner reservation and it has been beyond frustrating.  My Fiance and I are both vegetarian and wanted a vegetarian cocktail hour and have a dinner reservation at a restaurant that offers several vegetarian options (originally requested La Trattoria).  Angelica responded to my request saying that the restaurants do not have a lot of vegetarian options and suggested we host a private reception. (I picked a resort with 13 restaurants and not one is vegetarian friendly??? really?)  So I agreed and suggested a menu.  She replied with "what she could offer" which was not close to what I asked for (she offered: fruit plate, chips and guac, veggie pasta, rice).  So I looked through the buffet options and picked the vegetarian dishes and asked if we could do some mixture (i.e. quasadillas, chips/guac, seasoned potatoes, veggies, etc) and she responded that she could not accommodate the request.  I am totally frustrated and am puzzled as to where to go to eat on my wedding day.  I'm now thinking that I will have the wedding at 4pm, host a 1 hour cocktail hour (all she can provide that is vegetarian is fruit and chips/salsa/guac=$400) and then change into casual clothes and go to the salad buffet which doesn't feel special at all.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I had Angelica too.  She is very slow to respond, & I was pretty frustrated before.  But she was great once we got there.  Have you considered having your dinner at Arricifes?  I know it's a lot of meat, but they have a huge salad bar.  Your guests that eat meat would be happy, & you would have a pretty large selection from the salad bar.  It would definitely save you money to use the reservation that is included in the free package.  You could have your dinner outside on the terrace or inside (we had our welcome dinner inside because it was too windy that day).  The inside setup was pretty private as well.

Chanel... I know for a fact that people have mixed and matched before. I think if you are persistent, you can basically get anything u want....especially once your actually at the resort. I have weasled my wc into tons of stuff ( like the fact that she is holding TWO reception locations for me so that I can see them in person before I pick;) just be polite and persist! Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
